Thank you sir - and "Thank You" to all of you who have served and are currently serving. They can say whatever they want in other places, there is none better than the men and women of the US armed services.
God Bless

If it is a military award: I thank you also. But: As I said I don’t know what it is, please enlighten me and maybe others. A big “THANK YOU” from Indiana, if it is from one of our services.

[QUOTE=HCD;135940631]Sir: reading the other posts I can only make assumptions so please forgive my ignorance, would you please tell me what that medal is and who awarded it to you. I have never seen it, and I am in the dark.

Well, I have found it for you and it was a rather easy find.
Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
Criteria: Authorized for service members participating in or serving in support of Global War on Terrorism operations on or after Sept.11, 2001, and to a future date to be determined. Initial award of the service medal is limited to airport security operations (from September 27, 2001, until May 31, 2002) and to service members who support Operations Enduring Freedom, Noble Eagle, and Iraqi Freedom. Each combatant commander has the authority to approve award of the service medal for units and personnel deployed to their theater of operations. Special criteria: Must have performed in a designated anti-terrorism operation for a period of either 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days of duty. For those who were engaged in combat, killed, or wounded in the line of the duty the time requirement is waived.
I also thank you for your service.
