I only have 2 which I considered grail guns. A 3 inch model 66-4 and a model 696. I lucked onto the 66 at a gun show a couple of years ago. The 696 I purchased from another member here on the forum. Unfortunately I have never set things up to post pictures here. Maybe I better rectify that.

There's a bit of a logical trap here, because a grail gun is one that you search for long and hard without finding it. When you the search ends and you acquire one, it ceases immediately to be a grail gun and becomes a treasured possession. Maybe the solution is to identify the one-time grail guns whose acquisition was especially satisfying. This could be either because of the length of time that passed between the day you first knew you wanted one and the day you finally got it. or because your desire for the gun was so intense that even a fairly short delay in acquiring it made the intervening time seem like forever.
On those grounds, I have four guns that are seriously grailish. First is a Colt Woodsman, a gun I first fell in love with as a 10 or 12 year old when I saw one that belonged to one of my father's friends. I didn't get one until a couple of years ago, so I waited over half a century for it. This one is a well preserved first type from 1940.
Another pre-teen obsession was a Mannlicher-Schoenauer carbine, so this one is another half-century gun. Model 1903 with original Kahles Mignon scope.
There are actually S&Ws that fill the bill as well. After acquiring a Pre-23 and a prewar .38/44 Outdoorsman, it became clear to me that what I really burned to own and shoot was a postwar transitional OD. When I finally found one, I was ecstatic to find that it had been improved with a King reflector front sight, a form of sight that fascinates me.
And finally, as a lover of all five-screw K-22 revolvers, I have had a grail obsession for the rare and innovative K-22 Second Model (or K-22/40) as long as I have known the gun existed -- which is really only a few years. But recently I managed to acquire this one, which came with its original box and sight adjustment tool. This one graduated from grail status to cherished collection specimen just a week ago.
There are other guns in the collection that are perhaps rarer, prettier or flashier than these, but these are the ones that I most looked forward to obtaining in the years when I didn't have one.

Thinking this thread over, I came to the conclusion that I do not have any "grail" guns. Some of my guns remain unfired and some I enjoy showing off to others but none are such that I am going to enshrine them.
Maybe I need to buy me a grail gun.
