This is a pretty amazing bit of programming...

Think of a famous character and then click the link. Answer a few questions and "The Akinator" will announce whom you were thinking of.

It's been right most of the time with some pretty interesting characters and answered in only a few questions.

I stumped it! First try too! Whoohoo! It did guess a couple similar people that I thought would be too easy though.

Geez, that things good! James Bond, Dirk Pitt, Jack Reacher, Harry Potter, and (at my wife's bidding) the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.

It guessed 4 right in a row! Ewig rommel, clint walker, johnny horton and max schmeling! On johnny horton it guessed jim reeves, but we went deeper and in one or two more questions it got it! Amazeing!

I was surprised when he guessed Le Marquis de Lafayette.

I've got the feeling that if the Akinator misses... I must have answered a question wrong.

It went to 20 questions and started over. Next time it went to 14 questions and came up with the right answer.

Played three times. First two kinda quick, last one, Neville Brand took about 60 guess's. First two were Alvin York and Audie Murphy. I was in a war hero mood.

I stumped him with Massad Ayoob. I guess the Akinator doesn't consider gunfighting to be a "martial art".

Although I got to admit, he got the first 8 or 10 of 'em right.

I stumped him three times in a row even after many continue re-trys. I tried a simple one first, George Washington, which he got right though.

Yeah...I tried Audie Murphy as well. But then I decided to get a bit more creative, and went with John M. Browning. It missed on the first 20 questions, but got it with the next 10. Then I went with Gaston Glock...it missed with the first 20, still missed with the next 20, but got it on question number 50.

Pretty cool. It got the first 4 or 5 people, but then I thought of a really obscure individual. It went to question 39 before it guessed correctly: Philippe Petit ( wirewalker between WTC towers )

It took him 2 rounds of questions - it guessed "Milk Shake" before correctly identifying "Casper, the Friendly Ghost".

Regards,

Dave

It guessed George Patton, Gary Cooper, Steve McQueen, Jorja Fox, David Crockett, and Jim Bowie. Then it guessed Enzo Ferrari and Tazio Nuvolari. Nuvolari was the geatest driver of the 1930s. After first guessing Dick Butkus, it correctly guessed Ray Nitscke.

Had to try it one more time. The first guess was Jerry Kramer (very, very close), then Bart Starr, then Ray Nitschke, then finally Kenny Stabler (not even close). Then it gave up. The correct answer was "Fuzzy" Thurston.

Tried some more, got page not found. Went back and continued. Eventually got Gary Gilmore. Also got Francis Gary Powers.
