When does duck season start in SC?

I am ready for goose season...I hate those things.

I've got one of it's older brothers in a 20ga 303- it's so handy and light it isn't funny.

the cool thing is, the guy that buoght it took is on a dove shoot and couldn't hit anything, someone told him he needed a 26" not a 28, so I got it for 600 lees than he paid for it. He didn't even run a box of shells throught it.

Probably showing my ignorance, but couldn't he just have bought and used the shorter 26" barrel on it, or use lighter loads? Why sell it? In any event, that's a nice looking gun, congrats.

When I hunted dove/whitewing/quail (long time ago), if the modified choke barrel was on the Wingmaster, I reached for 6 shot. If the full choke was on, 8. Truth be told, I preferred the full. Managed to convince myself that the longer barrel gave me a fraction of a second longer to acquire a better target.

I believe it does not start until about the third week in November.

Gotta wait till a couple weeks into October here in Oregon, but I will be ready with my 3 1/2" chambered Mossberg model 835. That weapon has suited me well the few years I've had it. And from what I've read, there'll be no shortage of ducks to get after! Good luck to all.

I don't think we have any early teal season here in Oregon, but we do have an early goose shoot. (An early teal shoot would be the best chance for those of us here to get a cinnamon teal, with as fast as they head south.)

well I shot it, it was missing on the crossovers, shooting high, dropped the stock some, and boys, we have a winner. I think this time the gun lives up to the hype. I think this is the nicest auto loader I have ever shot. It shoots and handles as well as my 69 Browning O/U. I would not want to pay full retail for it, but at a discount, I do not think you will find a nicer gun, they hit the mark this time. Oh and the price just went up

I would be ready if I could go.

No one in my family except me will even eat duck, so I don't see any point in going. Have not been in years. Jealous of you guys.
