Canning
This weekend I'll be putting up peaches, spiced and straight up, as well as strawberry.
Because I read most of the other forums for learning, and don't have the knowledge to contribute in those areas like most of you, I'll give away one jar. A half pint of your choosing.
I'll pick a name and send it out on Friday.
WELL...SAFireman, kitty swatted your name out of my ball cap!

I would like to be in this karma, please. I live in peach and strawberry country, so your choice is fine by me.

Wrench,
One of my fondest memories as a boy was my grandmother telling me "John, why don't you go down to the cellar and bring up a jar of my strawberry preserves?" And let me tell you, no commercial strawberry jam has ever held a candle to that wonderful home made delicacy!
I would consider it an honor to have my name in the hat for a half pint of strawberry! Thanks for your generosity!
John

Thank you for your kind generosity. My grandmother on the farm (N of Plano, a long time ago when the farm was 14 miles north of ANY development) made the best spiced peach cobbler... I have never found anything to even come close. Please put me in your karma drawing for some of your spiced peaches. ...and thank you again for this wonderful opportunity! Hog

I didn't realize so many people liked spiced peaches. This is really bad, I ate half a pint this week. And then....I found a can of apricots I don't know how got here...so I opened them, drained and rinsed them, and packed them in the jar of syrup out of which I'd eaten the peaches. Which have an exceptional kick! So the apricots are mellowing in the fridge next to the pickles I'm waiting on...

And it wasn't me... I moped all day yesterday trying to erase those visions I had of strawberry preserves spread on hot buttered toast. Sigh. I guess someday I'll get over it.
Sadly,
John

Many thanks to a talented culinarian
I just made a heavenly PB&J out of the last of the jar of preserves (that jar was just too dang small ).
If you boys get a chance at another one of her karma's....go for it!...you won't be disappointed....I shared a bit with my wife and now she is clamoring for more....I don't know what I can give in return, but I feel the urge to pass this karma along....
Thanks again capt!
...btw...can I send the jar in for a refill?

I will always take back the empties. The paying public gets a dollar off the next one they buy for giving me an empty.
