Open Fire....
Cookin' That Is...
I know it is hotter than Hades this time of year. No excuse not to take some time to cook outdoors. Me, it is open spit or plain fire irons. Some folks love firepits, dutch ovens, or good old BBQ'D food off a grill....
What's Cooking.....?

I made two great ribeyes, and grilled some shrimp and corn on the cob for my girlfriend and I last Sunday evening. No pics, but I should have. I hate to brag on my own cooking, but it sure was good. The Abita Turbo Dogs I drank as an appetizer MAY have helped in my opinion somewhat. I sure do love my little hand me down aluminum charcoal grill. Nuttin fancy, just good food!

If the world as we know it ends due to the debt crisis, or whatever the next crisis is, I am movin' in with Griz. He looks all fixed to get by no matter what happens, ever...
(No worries, Giz. I'll pull my weight. I can, er, um, write up your memoirs for you while you are out catchin' dinner! )

Some great pictures! I very rarely cook over an open fire like this, but I do love to use my smoker. Within the last month I've smoked several chickens, pork ribs several times, and a boston butt. Now you've made me hungry! Guess I'll get dressed and head to the store.

That does make my mouth water! We cook on the grill and the smoker year round down here. I could almost smell the smoke from your fire in that picture, good job!

My youngest daughter came home last Friday with her new husband... fine man! Worked his way through college cooking in an Italian restaurant. We fired up the grill and put on Rib Eye's. He did the cooking. Knows what he's doing! Excellent. Very much enjoy and absolutely prefer cooking over a open fire, grilling, etc. Looks like you are a devoted practitioner of the art! "Cool!"
