Default Dealer questions

I am wondering which reference book is used by dealers to determine the value of a gun. I would like to buy one as a reference so I could determine when a deal is a good deal. Is there a standard one like the kelly blue book or NADA is for cars? Also after obtaining an FFL, how does one find out where to purchase the new guns from. I assume there are distributers?

Default gun book values

Most of the dealers us the standard blue book of gun values priced at around $40.00. Or the standard catalog of gun values is another publication used for a reference of gun values. But, they are only a guide since the prices change frequently and can be subjective depending what the buyer wants to spend for a specific firearm. Try Krause publication on their website or Midway or Brownells. There are numerous books on the market and basically do the same. It is a matter of choice. Also, there were several wholesellers listed on a previous thread regarding FFL purchasing from manufactures on a dealer's price list.

You can subscribe to the Blue Book on line. It is up dated during the year. If you are a dealer and go to gun shows this might be a faster way to get information. Don
