Hey you stole my ugly thunder. I'd win this contest, or so my wife says. I would post a pic but broke my camera trying. All kidding aside. You got yourself a bit%$#n rifle. Did you build it yourself?

Nice looking tack-driver Ernie...

Ernie looks astonishingly like New Zealand actor Peter McCaulay, who played Prof. George Challenger on a syndicated TV series called, "Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World"!
Did anyone else here watch that show? Do you see the resemblance to the distinguished scientist? It struck me immediately. But I have all three seasons of the show on DVD and know the characters well.
The rifle is very different, though. Challenger had a double-barrelled .450 Nitro Express and a Colt SAA .45 with 5.5-inch barrel. Nice Bowie knife, too.
Here's a fan video featuring Challenger and his crew. It was made by a Norwegian wildlife artist using the name of Spicy Weasel. Some past scenes are seen in sepia tone, the rest in color. I don't think you'll have trouble picking out George Challenger, having seen Ernie's photo...The singers are The Seekers, an Aussie group. Appropriate because the series was filmed in Australia.

Only a man can walk down the street with a big gut, bald head, and sloppily dressed and still think he is a sex symbol for all women!

I have owned a pair of Swifts...both shot very well, even with cheapo factroy barrels. Interested to know how your's shoots.
With a 55gr and H-414, my push feed M-70 Varmint in their cheapo "fiberglass" (really PLASTIC) stock...will stay in the .4" area for five at 100 yds easily.
With the occasional 1/4" or .2" on a good day.
Whose barrel, etc?

This is a Factory 40x, I bought it new, the way I understand it the barrel is handlapped. It only has 60 rounds thru it. I only shoot handloads, Berger 62 gr right now.....I am using a Sinclair rest. Its shooting between 1/4 & 1/2 @ 100 yds...........Thats really all I can expect out of it....It wont shoot with a true "Bench Gun", But I sure admire the thing. Thanks Ernie
