I've turned into Elmer Keith!
Anyone who has ever seen one of Mr. Keiths letters knows he simply typed and let the keys fall where they may. Apparently I have caught the malady.
He seldom used a paragraph break...or even a period. Once heard his writing style reffered to as "stream of conciousness" writing.
Well it has caught on here at my keyboard. I was never a PROPER typist. Do not use the proper finger's as I was taught. And I have fat fingers too.
But lately...OMG! If I don't go back and REALLY proof read...it's almost unintelligable. Double "O's" and "P's" seem to be my favorite error.
Maybe a subconcious Salute to Mr. Keith?
Maay be ppounding on the keybooard and noot know ing it. ?

Do you open webpages in Internet Explorer? I use Firefox at the house and it has a built in spell check that works pretty good. There is a add on for IE that you can download but I just really prefer Firefox at this point.

I have a letter or two lying around from Elmer Keith. I think I was so surprised that he answered one of my letters that I sent him another one and darned if he didn't answer that one too. He was a character.
Good luck with your conversion.

I'm not sure, but I think it has sonething to do with geeting old. I often anticipate double leeters, and only catch it on pttofreading.
Life's a ****, and then you die.

My problem is the spieling. I used to be good at it but as i get older i sumetimes forget how to spiel the most simplest werds. I hardly ever forget to punkuate, but don't. guessit matters much as long as you got pereds; comas and seamy colons scattered around in your sintinces. peeple can still understand you.

Can’t remember where, but I read that one of EK’s common typos was hitting the “i” and “o” keys interchangeably. The proof readers would get a big laugh at it. Sometimes Elmer shot his 44, other times Elmer did something else with his 44.

Ah I thought you bought a ton of N frames, a 10 gallon hat and let your son shoot at a hawk in a field with his mother watching from the car.
then you'd be old Elmer!

I wouldn't mind a TON of N-Frames.
The hat or the hawk aint gonna happen though.
I did once pull off a heck of a shot on a gopher at 90 yds, standing on top of a rock...with my old duty gun M-28. Would that count?

No way - not with any .357! And to be in good Elmer-style, you should have been lying on the ground, resting against your weak-side forearm, strong-side leg pulled up, shooting one-handed with your wrist resting against the outside of your leg, just below the knee. Don't forget to watch your pants leg for powder burns!
(I never did see how he could hit anything like that! )
