Default Bought mine

at Costco and used it all Spring but the voice directions went out, so got a replacement at Costco again...no questions asked. I'm happy.

No feedback on 1300 model, but I've got maybe five of their
older models, and have been extremely happy with them all.
The only problem I ran into, was one without an updated map.
O'Dark thirty, running 30 mph towards the security post at a
new manufacturing complex. OOPS!! Updates are Good!
Garmin makes some quality GPS units, IMO. TACC1

I can't vouch for the 1300, but I've got a 1450LMT that works like a charm, I have no complaints at all and I've had it about 8 months.

I'm on my second 1390LMT (the first got stolen).
I LOVE IT - Works great!
My wife argues with it, which is fairly entertaining for a while. I don't think she likes having another woman in the car telling me what to do.

It does take like FOREVER to update the (free ) maps though.
Well, a couple of hours.

Looking at the Garmin WS the 1300 has free lifetime updates. Their updates are fairly expensive so that's a good deal. With the billions spent on infrastructure last summer I'll bet there's at least 3 miles of new unmapped highway in this country. I have couple Garmins. One of them is an old 350. It will track enough satellites that it won't get lost in the forest of tall buildings in downtown Chicago. The 1300 has a high sensitivity receiver I believe thats what it takes to track more satellites. The 1300 doesn't display the speed limit on the road your on. I like that feature.

Not meaning to broadcast anymore negative waves - But:
Most of the Garmin nuvi devices come in one of 3 configurations.
I'll use the 1390 for example, cause that's what I have.
There's the 1390 -
Then the 1390LM (LM = Lifetime Maps)
And the 1390LMT (LMT = Lifetime Maps and Traffic)

The 1390 is a bit cheaper than the 1390LMT, but the map updates are fairly expensive (IMHO) and the LM or LMT versions pay for themselves very quickly (new maps are issued quarterly and are $50 each - or like $90 for lifetime map upgrades). The 1300 and 1300LMT can be had for about the same price with a bit of shopping, btw.

As an added bonus - If you report a registered unit as stolen, Garmin will notify you if it ever comes online (via the internet) again and will also render it inop
