Does anybody else have little silly things they keep in their area? My grandkids/kids bring me stuff all the time. Hafta keep it all dontcha know!
What kind of knick/knack stuff do you have? Or are you a person that keeps your area neat and organized? Everybody is different. Here's a little bit.

I've got a really cool calendar in my gun room.
But I can't show it here.

About a thousand old gun magazines, courtesy of my late Father, and about a gallon of Hoppes #9.

And LOTS of ammo.

1.5 inch high resin teddy bear holding a heart given to me by my late wife. He lives on the base of the computer monitor.

I've got a bay in my garage that has my 16' L shaped reloading-gun cleaning bench stuff.On the wall above that is a shelf for die's, powder and some gun parts above the shelf is where all my bayonet's are . On the other wall I have 12' of shelving made out of 2x10's double wide 3 shelves high that hold most of my ammo about 5,000 rnd's plus all my goose decoy's and hunting camping stuff. I also have several stuffed animal head's and fish. the problem is right now I've got a **** load of lumber in there also.

Guns, knifes, computers, stereos, TV's, reloading equipment... on and on. Best of all is my four-legged pal. Pugsters will stay on her sofa and protect me from all those who pass by her bay window... Without Pugsters my man cave would be empty. As far as silly... I've had this cartoon pic in glass on my desk for about 5 years. I duknow... it just seems to fit.

I've put small sculptures, a Weatherby lucite cartridge block, and a few Avon cologne bottles (plastic) in the shape of shotgun shells and a Coleman lantern in my bookcases.

I also have a very fine painting of a lynx done by my then-teen daughter next to a ceramic figure of a bobcat that she will inherit, and I have a souvenir glass from Newfoundland with several small flags in it. I used them to teach my kids about the world.

I have a few photos of the kids, including one of my son on the road to Baghdad in 2003. (3rd Infantry Div.)

Some of my wooden carvings of African game came from the late David W. Arnold, a South African who served for a few decades as a cop in Rhodesia before he came to the USA to edit, Petersen's Handguns. He sent those while still in Rhodesia, and I treasure them.

Some of my favorite items are two small pewter sculptures of a bighorn sheep and a white shark. There's a little jade turtle, and a ceramic black panther made for me by my former wife. It sits atop the bookcase with the African and Indian hunting titles.

And I have a couple of fine photos taken by Linda Karst of her superb scrimshaw art. She gave me those after I profiled her talent in a knife magazine. I simply marvel at Linda's ability to make animals come alive on ivory or white Micarta. Her knowledge of anatomy and detail is just stunning. She is also a very skilled photographer.

I don't use bottles much to decorate, finding that a little too like something that college kids would do. But I saved and display in a bookcase two wine bottles. One is a bottle of Chateau Latour given to me by my son soon after he became old enough to buy it, and the other was a memorable bottle of Joh. Jos. Prum's splendid Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese, from the Moselle.

I have framed prints of ducks and salmon, and one of a rising pheasant, all from the brush of James Zimmerman. They aren't expensive, but are well done. (The originals ARE expensive! Fortunately, his art has been widely reproduced.)

Finally, there's a whitetail deer head, the animal shot by my DIL. She used a 7mm-08 at about 80 yards. The deer never knew what hit it. (She's not only a good shot; she's an embryologist who has done epochal research in cloning animals, and she knows herbivore anatomy very well.)

Ammo boxes and ammo, cigars, humidors, cigar boxes, military surplus and Pendleton Indian blankets, books, knives, whiskey and whisky, rum and vodka, wine, medical kit, water, canteens, cans of colossal cashews and food, M16 magazines loaded and unloaded, .303 British on stripper clips in bandoliers....

Little silly things would be the diecast metal cars and trucks (1/24 scale) for a young guy in the family who is crazy about such things. Give him a car at a family get-together and he is a happy guy.

There is a Bren Mark 2 sitting on top of the safe next to a commemorative powder horn bottle of George Dickel that was bottled on the re-opening of the Dickel distillery in October, 1964.

The Bren has a dummy receiver. The bottle is real and full. It will be opened in a few years to celebrate our 50th anniversary - October, 2014. We were going to uncork it on our 25th but never got around to it.

I have a "Barbasaurus" doll a friend made me. And an "Alien Victim Ken" doll. I also have some really weird stuff! Oh. I also have an antique grim reaper whiskey decanter with little skull shot glasses. And this stuff doesn't even scratch the serface!

Hot Wheels, whiskey bottles that are now only full of memories of the friends I shared them with, a WW2 steel pot circa 1942, my dad's State Patrol memorabilia, my state patrol memorabilia, some pictures done by my beautiful wife, my grandfathers fishing poles, my hunting dog (she's not there full time) some important firearms (to me anyway), three titanium 1911 that represent a business venture once, on and on and on. My hunny may think it's ****, don't care cause it's mine.

On my bookcase: My grandfather's communion set from his days as a chaplin in WWI. A brass matchbox cover from WWI. My dad's WWII combat knife. An elephant tusk. A pewter beer stein with my initials on it from my high school girlfriend. A wooden crucifix supposedly hundreds of years old from France, a babtismal gift from my long forgotten god parents. A Yashica double lensed camera of my dad's. An ivory cigarette holder carved with a dragon. A Siamese cigarette lighter. A metal and leather whiskey pocket flask. A brass engineer's compass... Various knives and pocketknives. Watches... Handgun stocks/grips... Family photos covering four generations.

Also, some books.

Most of my guns, antique rods and a creel, sound system, lots of rocks and sea shells, books including bound National Geogaphics from 1908 to 1997,(I quit my subscription when they became more interested in left leaning politics and "Green" than Geography!) Lots of souveniers from work all around the world.

An old girlfriend said that I was like a big old dog. Cute, but capable of making a mess when left to my own devices. I do tend to create piles of stuff I suppose.

A random gaze around and I see the following - a big spiked club, 2
D batteries with "some" juice left, a Sony shortwave radio with a bellwire and slinky antenna, a crica 1970 SW radio that I got for 4 bucks at good will with the same set up, seven little 1:144 panzers supported by two Stukas in the same scale, a baseball bat, a GI angle head flashlight, three old 12" GI Joes - one with a homemade hook for a hand, a roll of tape, some pipe tobacco tins - one full of percussion caps (and I don't even have a muzzle loader), a mardi gras hat with bells on it, an IFAK, and a Carcano stripper clip that I just found in the bottom of the closet last night....

Fun stuff.

Anyone need a set of ear buds that are pink and light up? Not sure why I have those.

I have a cardboard belt fed MG that my kids made for me for Christmas one year. (I keep hoping one of them will get rich and buy me a real one).

Another Christmas gift is a ceramic hippo. One year I kept mentioning the old song "All I Want For Christmas Is A Hippopotamus." My daughter found the ceramic one in a local consignment shop. She was smiling like crazy when I opened it.

I have the first target I shot with full autos posted. It was ventilated with both a Thompson and a M3. Also a target from a PPC match and some pre-deer season sighting in targets.

One of the other things is a fired Japanese artillery shell I picked up as a kid. Dad worked for the U.S. Government on a small island in the East Carolines. I found the shell in the ruins of a never-completed Japanese bomb shelter up in the hills. I lost most of the other stuff I found on that and other islands but the big shell stuck around.

I don't have a "Man's Room", den, etc.
Many years ago every time I put in a "Jimmy's Room" my wife became pregnant and "Jimmy's Room" turned into another nursery/kid's room.
After number six child I decided that having a "Jimmy's Room" was not going to happen.

An "Arrest Me Yellow" 2006 Mustang GT, with Ford Racing Performance Parts suspension, Loudmouth SLP exhaust system, and a few other goodies.

And a Snap-on roll cab full of my gun stuff! NRA flags on the wall, Glock sign, that kind of stuff.

Where do I start?

My man-cave is actually 3 rooms. The downstair's family room is for relaxing and is what we call the man-cave.. The small bedroom is for fly-tying and reading and the mother-in-law kitchen is my reloading room. Reloading room has a few gun posters, nothing much in ornamentation.

Fly-room has bookshelves and a couple of work tables with fly -tying stuff. A couple of heads on the wall. A "shrine" to my late GSP, Maggie. Family pics, etc.

Man cave's got all kinds-mostly western stuff. Antique guns, collector knives, Pendletons (the whole house has those), western art-mostly Fur Trade,Dad's stuff from WWII, antique fishing gear (reels & fly rods), extra TV, love seat and recliner..

I have my favorite, one-eyed sweetheart Jack Russell, Cali in her chair keeping me company and protecting me from intruders:

There's a lot of other stuff too, as you might imagine. Stuff mounts up and deposits itself in there. I'm just lucky to have a "man cave."
