Pro Series picture thread.
I'd love to see everyones awesome Smith and Wesson Pro Series firearms. I figure this thread could get interesting since there are pro series revolvers, semi-autos and 1911's. I'll go ahead and get it started. My Pro Series 686-6 Plus with 5" bbl.

Wen did you get yours? I was told by S&W that these would be out last of July, early August (?)

Hey how are those 640's? I've been thinking about getting one as a ccw to go with my 686. What's the verdict?

No, no. They are not out and will not be. They have not made them.
I called yesterday as the last I heard they where waiting for the sights. The gist I got is that they are not going to be produced. Neither is the 6 shot 327 Federal Mag. I was more interested in that as I have a 640.
This has been going on since the 2010 catalog came out.

If the M640 Pro Series is not going to happen, how about the M632 (Pic below), Any one has one of these? How about the .327 Fed Magnum round, any one familiar with it? Tell me about it. Thanks.

I gave up; bought the 3" M632 in .327 Federal Magnum. Not a bad looking revolver, except for the hole ahead of the front sight, and horrible (heavy) trigger pull. Have not fired it yet, waiting for ammo.

That thud you heard was me falling over and hitting the ground when Rule 13 mentioned that the 632 hammerless was not going to be produced!!

My new toy went back to S&W yesterday. Normally when I buy a gun I clean it and do a look-see inspection of he innards. The side plate on this baby proved to be a difficult task, but I did remove it, but I couldn't fit back... The S&W smith admits that some need a special jig to press it back on. :roll eyes:

Everything looks OK, and the gun is built like tank; it needs to be to withstand the heavy pounding of the .327 Mag and .32 H&R Mag.

I talked to CS @ S&W 7-14-11 - he said the 2" 632 was scheduled for mid August production start - in dealer's by September. He said that there were none on backorder. Little wonder - after 18+ months of promises...
Now they say it's canned? Wow. Have to find me a 3" bright SS 632...

Meanwhile, my massive 'Pro' collection, less the 625JM - which came out before the Pro Series!
Love 'em!!

I shoot in a combat competition league and I wanted a longer sight radius (and therefore longer barrel) 9mm. I wanted a front sight I could see at 25 yards indoors on a black silhouette target. The range is too bright for night sights to work so a fiber optic front sight would be the way to go. I also desired a decent trigger. Since we draw from a holster, I wanted a gun without a manual safety or decocking lever. I just wanted to draw the gun, fire, and then reholster simply. I had already shot my Tanfoglio Witness Match and my Sig P220 but for various other reasons besides those previously listed, I don't use either anymore.
I bought the S&W M&P Pro Series .40 caliber. I can use the .40 (I really like the cartridge) for defense and carry. But I also bought a Storm Lake 9mm barrel and four S&W 9mm magazines. This set up works 100% and is very accurate. Now I can shoot 9mm (less expensive ammo) in competition too!

The M640 Pro is out and selling. I ordered mine this morning, from Bud's. The not so-good news is the price, around $650 bucks.
