You did very well. Auctions for me have been generally wastes of time and gas money.
You were far luckier.
Nice 220.

Nice finds!
I went to a auction last year and thought I might do OK. Should have stayed home.

That Sig actually has some age on it. Not saying it isn't new in the case, just an older gun.
Bottom of slide right behind the muzzle- What are the two letters in a row, like BK ??
Oh- you stole it, BTW!

That's a pretty dang nice looking 870 for two-and-a-half bills. I'd have snapped it up, too.
You did well.

You did good!
As a general rule for my area, firearms at local auctions bring
market prices ay minimum. You're more likely to see any firearm
bringing down pretty hefty prices. Hope you find another auction
like that. TACC1

Congrats
Your P220 was made in 1994, and you did steal it!! Did it also come with the test target?
Those round hammer, stamped slide P220's are the ones to have.
BTW - nice 870 as well!

Love that 220, great score. I have a 226 from the late 80's, looks identical.

It`s a nice match to the model 1100 I bought new back in 1978.

I attend about three-four live auctions a year. It's sometimes hard to get good deals there. Was there a buyers premium? The auction I go to has a 10% buyers and 15% sellers. Internet buyers pay 18%!!! You just have to do the math before hand. Nice pick-ups.

Most of the time auctions are like that around here as well. But people seem wary of spending money on things they don`t really need right now. And who can blame them with what the boobs in washington are doing.
This is the second auction this year where I`ve gotten good deals. Back in June I picked up a Winchester model 63 (one of the late 90s made in Japan ones) and a custom 10/22 just about dirt cheap. $300 and $175 respectively.
At the time, I just figured it was because there was bad weather and not many people at the sale. But that might have just been part of it, not the whole reason.

All the documentation was still in a sealed plastic bag. But no test target.
According to the dealer that was selling all this stuff, a guy traded two of these for a Browning trap gun a couple of months ago. So there is no telling how long it had been sitting in someone`s safe.
The other one also went cheap. Think it sold for just a little more than this one did.
Both sold near the end of the auction. May be that those who were willing to spend a little money were about tapped out by that time.
There were over 100 guns at the sale, ranging for the normal trade in beaters on up to some very nice high end guns.
The Colts, Smiths, and Brownings brought pretty respectable prices. A couple of older Rugers also sold high. But a lot of the other stuff went pretty cheap.
There were half a dozen reconditioned Smith 3rd generation autos that went farly cheap. DA only .40s and 9mms. But I never had much interest in 3rd generation Smith autos.
There was a very nice police marked model 15 revolver there that I would like to have had, but someone else wanted it a lot more than I did. Nice condition 15-3 with nearly perfect diamond grips. Just a touch of holster wear. That one must have set in a police armory or someone`s safe for quite some time. It was sure never used much.

Just a standard auction. No buyer fees.
Not sure what the auction outfits around here charge to hold an auction. I`ve heard it`s around 7 or 8 percent, but that was a few years back. Probably depends on what they think the total sale might bring in as to what percentage they charge the seller.

There was one old fellow at the auction that really cleaned up. He bagged most of the Smiths and most of better Remingtons. He must have gotten 15 or 16 guns. And all nice ones at that. He also took home the second Sig 220 just like the one I got. Think he was also the one that got a very nice old Browning A5 and a Browning A-Bolt.
