Default Field stripping

So...I somehow ended up with a TEC9 (I'm aware of its banned nature and Columbine)

But I'm trying to field strip it and give it a good bath and the only manual I can find is this:
http://stevespages.com/pdf/interdynamics_kg9.pdf

I encounter a problem at the step the says pull the operating handle back and out. Having trouble with the bolt and spring removal. It ain't happenin' as the pictures on the PDF manual I find are pretty sucky. I can't find a forum with instructions but I'm also looking fairly quickly and am kind of getting lazy and figured someone here might know.

Suggestions?

It's not as tricky as the Colt .380 Government Pocketlite was.

My daughter's BF's dad told him to bring them over and clean them
