One guy with a crossbow and the Sheriff has his revolver.??

They can't find more guns in cars, stores, homes etc???
They go into that last season. The zombies are attracked to noise, so shooting guns draws a bunch of them.

I agree with the not having guns. They are in Georgia. Doesn't EVERYONE in Georgia have guns???

Start going through houses, you will find all kinds of drugs and weapons, where are all the dead army guys? where did all thier weapons go ??

Shane went into the trunk of a cop car, aren't there first aid kits in them? Shotguns ??

Really, what's with the junk motor home? All those vehicles and they can't find something better that doesn't break down all the time.

Didn't they every watch Omega Man where Heston just goes to dealers lots and drives them off the lot?

Very interesting, the different opinions you see on different forums. People on here complain that zombies lack character, shooting them in the head gets borning, etc. On another gun forum people are complaining that the show is too slow and too focused on drama and needs more shooting.

Personally, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Sure it has its flaws and bits of writing that don't make sense, but overall its something the fiancee and I can look forward to sitting down and watching on Sunday nights. To me, the show is about how people band together, fall apart and the overall stress of surviving an EOTWAWKI event. The zombies are just the "event" and almost secondary.

My wife started watching my Season One compendium Sunday... she now loves it, too!

The Latino family that headed over here (Birmingham) to be with relatives... that predates our recent law changes re illegal aliens. There was a big thing a few weeks about losing part of our tomato crop due to the loss of the usual pickers. I wonder if they will resurface? What about the one-handed Dixon brother? So many questions... it is still entertaining.

Anyone here know how to drive and service an Abrams tank? Well maybe someone does, in there group, there obviously weren't any former tankers. There's also the issue of fueling it - those things use a lot of gas, assuming that the tank wasn't already on empty.

The old man keeps the RV around because it is quite literally his home apparently. Thus he's been hanging onto it and is reluctant to leave it.

Presumably most M4s laying around would be empty or out of service, otherwise their prior owner wouldn't have left them laying around. It could also be the two main gun guys - Rick and Shane - don't like or trust ARs. There's people on here that claim that they'd want anything else.

Shane actually has a decent enough tactical sort of shotgun and seems to know how to use it. Presumably he doesn't want an upgrade to what works for him.

Remember 2008? It was difficult to find guns and ammunition then, and that was a relatively minor panic.

Always good to have a totally rational explanation for a totally irrational, ridiculous show.

the m 4s i saw the owners had took a dirt nap, and im sure the had extra ammo, as far as driving the tank, couldnt be much harder than driving a bulldozer? and you could go any where in style and safe i dont see fuel as a problum to get its everywhere free for the taking!

That would be rough cleaning out those tracks and road wheels after running over a bakers dozen of zombies. Main gun would be useless unless you found a large group of them.

Iwas thinking if you got up enough speed all that stuff would come right on out of them tracks! you wouldnt need the big gun slow as they walk!

I think this show just might have the answer to the classic question "can't we all just get along?", at least if your a zombie, because all kinds of folks are just shuffling around with a common purpose. Sort of reminds me of the lyrics from "Love Train" and of the mindless "walking dead" voters from 2008.

So, did anyone else see the problem with Shane's plan? He had a good diversion to get IN, but failed to consider that tricky "gettin out" part.

I also can't figure out why they would leave Atlanta without availing themselves of new vehicles, plenty of supplies, lots of guns and arrows, medicine, etc. A city as big as Atlanta would definitely have all the supplies they need if they just scavenged a bit.

My understanding from last season was that Atlanta was so over run with walkers it was too dangerous to go foraging around.

I think one of the best lead vehicles would be a nice big Triaxle dump with one of those 'A' type snow plows, that will clear the roads, and give ample space to store provisions with out the zombies getting to it.
As for fuel, look and see how many big rigs are on the roads.

Anyone watch tonight's ep? I shouldn't be surprised, but I couldn't believe Shane did that. I do hope that they resolve the missing kid story line, that is getting old. Oh, and I loved the hanging zombie scene, that was creative.

Shane arguably did the right thing, or at least while a cold blooded thing to do... the necessary thing. Like the saying goes, don't have to be faster than the zombies, just have to be faster than the other guy... The fat guy seemed about done for anyway and they'd have shortly been overtaken. That simply would have gotten them both killed and would have gotten Carl killed for lack of the medical supplies.

Love the show. Some episodes are better than others. I thought tonight was very good! I don't like or trust Shane at all. What he did tonight sealed it for me. All he needed to do was tell the fat guy to give him the duffle bag so it would be easier for him to keep up, then out pace him. Result would have been the same.

The snippet from next weeks show that they showed on The Talking Dead later in the evening looked pretty good. You can bet I will be in front of the tube next Sunday night as well!

BTW, does anyone know what happened to the Zombie Survival Guide that I started sending around the country as a roving Karma? I saw it put up for a Karma about seven times, and then it stopped. Folks were supposed to write thier forum name and location (city or town and State) inside the cover and re-Karma it off to someone else.

If anyone knows where it is, this would be a great time to get it moving again.

I thought the last episode was very good, too. Shane is no boy scout, and he proved it with Otis.

I'm starting to like Norman Reedus' character more and more. I loved his story about getting lost and no one looking for him.

I thought Shane was an okay guy. He did try to rescue Rick from the hospital, took care of Rick's wife and son when it looked Rick was dead (kept them alive, safe etc), and stopped his relationship with Rick's wife once Rick showed back up. Since then he's mostly tried to keep the peace and did risk his life to help Carl. True he did have a fleeting though - apparently of shooting Rick, but since everyone else seems to be intermittently thinking of killing themselves, I'd let that pass... Arguably it might be healthier to be thinking about killing other people...

I saw it as Otis - the Fat Man - being dead either way. Thus Shane had to make a hard choice - they can both die and Carl can die, or Otis could die...

Did you guys miss "Zombie Apocalypse" on ScyFy? Ving Rhames was back fighting zombies.

Yeah that was nuts! The least he could have done was shoot him in the head. Who wants to die, getting eaten by zombies!

I knew the Old Doctor was gonna be a Veterinarian.

Funny/Sad part is,I believe my Vet. is a more studied Dr. than most.

Shane? What would you do?I'd probably be lunch.

Gator I'm glad your married to someone in the military and not in it. While it's just a show come on man. That was not needed at all. Like someone else mentioned Shane could have grabbed the pack off him.

I have to admit that I was totally disgusted by it. I've been in real life situations(not zombies) where you had to take care of a weaker person. You just don't kill them. But then again that's what the show is all about human nature under stress. Shane has failed eventhough he saved the day so to speak. I can't wait to see him eaten alive.

There's the truth of it.
Who is he to make the decision?I call it murder others might justify it as a sacrifice.
One thing for sure,It's a bad situation to have to be in.That's a big part of the drama of the show.

The really insidious thing about this action is that the intention was to incapacitate, not kill the soon to be victim. Note the body shot, not in the head. Zombies needed to be distracted and they wouldn't be by an already dead corpse...

Well as long as he fought him they both could have got away. Finally someone who feels like me.they are in the south hunting guns in a lot of homes and ammo.and the guns left on the ground by the dead troops and cops will be good.why is the redneck guy putting the arrows in his mouth? why havent they got new vehicles to drive in?I like the dump truck idea great and weld rebar spikes on the plowblade.. and another thing if I was going to get the medical item with otis you better belive I would have had all the ammo they had and I would have shot all in the gym.point to remember when getting medical gear look out the window before opening the door.and the big thing is I was a 19 KILO so I can fully operate a M1 Abrams tank.

A screaming and thrashing Otis made better zombie bait - they are drawn to sound - than a stone dead hunk of zombie chow Otis would have. That's why - in order for the distraction to work and keep the zombies busy - Otis had to be alive and kicking/screaming.

It's sort of like the scene in "The Dirty Dozen" where Lee Marvin asks Charles Bronson what he's in for. He responds to the effect that he shot one of the guys in his unit in the back and killed him - after the guy took off running with all their much needed medical supplies because he paniced.

If it was me and Otis, I would have done the same thing.
This is not a war, it is survival of the fittest. Otis was the reason that they were there in the first place. He was not part of 'thier' pack, so it was not a friend that he had to kill.
Shane injured his ankle, therfore, Otis might have made it to the truck before Shane did.

Nobody said that is was right or the moral thing to do, but it did give Shane the chance to escape with the supplies to save Carl.

It was a cowardly thing to do.

As has been said, I don't think Shane did it for himself. He knew that the medical supplies were necessary to save Carl's life and that they both weren't going to get out alive.

The fat guy could have taken it out IF Shane volunteered to stay. Shane however chose to sacrifice the OTHER guys life to save his own.

I don't think Otis was going to make it one way or another. He was pretty winded and less fit and able than even an injured Shane. As my wife asked - "Why was a fat guy still around this far into the zombie apocalypse anyway?"

Plus...Well as a meal Otis was going to last longer as a distraction. There was more of him to eat. Sort of like Rick's horse last season. The zombies seem to go for the biggest meal - eating the horse and then giving Rick time to escape.

I'm liking Daryl more and more with each episode. His explanation as to why Merle had all those drugs in his saddlebag was golden, too.

"Merle caught the clap from time to time.."

I'm waiting for Glenn and Dale to unleash their inner bad *ss.

Now we get to play, "Who's the baby daddy?" Maybe Jerry Springer will do a cameo...

I thought that might happen when Rick showed up in season one. That was a bit easy...

Daryl's adventure was good.

The Doc/Preacher is pretty creepy.
