Default Rebuilding a Gun Collection....

Anyone else ever re-focused their collection? After 25 years of following the herd, it's kinda fun accumulatin' instead of collecting...

Anyrate, BRNO and some CZ rifles are my new focal point in modern rifles. Trust me, they are still flying under the radar of most folks, even though some BRNO's are hitting the high end market.

Look for unique or discontinued models, or unusual calibers. These might be investment guns, that you can enjoy and appreciate,...today.

I'm still a n00b and my accumulation is pretty meager by S&W Forums standards. So far each purchase has had a reason, more or less. I say "more or less" because as a guy told me... "After the first one, the need is gone."

My focus so far has been HD. That is covered, with backup.

When I get back to work I might look at something like a 98% '40s vintage K22 or somesuch for range fun. Something that's just a knockout to look at.

My wife has serious lust for my RIA Tactical 1911 so I'm fairly certain there is a stainless DW or S&W 1911 somewhere in my future.

Focus? Not really. I would rather have a diversity than, say, "all barrel lengths of a certain model" or whatever.

If I win the lotto I may reassess.

I'm not really "re-building", but definitely "re-focusing" or more specifically "simplifying". I have obtained quite a few mil-surp. rifles over the years, but I really only shoot very few of them. Some have sat in the safe a decade or more with never being shot. I figure it is time to let most of them go, and let someone else enjoy them for a while and hopefully get some use out of them.

I had a keen interest in USGI firearms, specifically M1 carbines, for 25 years or so.

The past few years, though, I've found that I have developed an interest Colt pocket pistols.

Absolutely, completely and totally untrue. I wish folks would stop spreading this ridiculous rumor.
