Might be a setting on your end, I see no ad's within the posts on my computer.

My work computer is another animal though, I see an ad in the upper right quadrant of posts. The difference there is I don't sign in when I am working, just a quick browse when time allows.

It would be nice not to have ads, I just consider it part of doing business in todays world. The ads that bug me are the ones that move back and forth up and down. They distract me and I've got enough distractions.

I'd rather have the Forum w/ads than no Forum at all.

With respect to the OP, maybe you should be thankful for this fine forum and allow Lee to run it as he sees fit. Oh' and sending him some funds might help too. JMHO.

Hell, I like the adds!! I have been clicking on 10 - 20 a day just to help generate a few bucks to help keep the site up and running. Though I was concerned for a bit, I wasn't seeing the scantily clad women in my banners for a day or so!!

We live in a consumer-oriented society. Get used to it. I haven't seen the Russian Brides ad for awhile either. Maybe if we all post "Russian Brides", the ad will pop up.

Default Ads help pay for our fun times here.

Longranger, I like you don't care for all the adds, but I do donate to the forum. So if you and everyone else did the same perhaps Mr. Lee could cut back on the ads, but until that happens get used to the ads.

Remember, " if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem."

I never would have noticed the adds if nobody had brought it up. Still beats the heck out of trying to watch TV. I'm not interupted at all.

Besides, where else can I click on the anti-gun ads and get directly to their sites....and then send them emails telling
them what I think of their efforts......

And they never write back to me....damn.

I love having a battle of wits with an unarmed person...

I'm not sure, but I believe this only occurs when you're not logged in. The only time I see an ad IN the original post is when I haven't yet logged in...

I was gonna ask if anyone was enjoying the "sleepwear" ads.

I'm glad to see that the ever observant lawman "keith44spl" is.

I also noticed some "women's lingerie" ads on the top banner the other day. Those "outranked" any Victoria's Secret ads I ever saw.

But I only looked a them ads six or eight times as I had gun stuff to read about.

Well, now I am mad. I don't see any ads with scantily clad women...all I see are ads for gun stuff, greeting cards, and some communication service.

Why ain't I gettin' what the rest of you are? And I even contribute!

You know in the motorcycle club world, we call this 'talking club buisness', that occurs when you start talking about things you don't have a clue about in public and is concidered very disrespectful to your brothers. The better course of action is to go to your officers (in this case Moderator or Admin) and ask them privately to avoid coming off like a disrespectful R.U.B. I know this frustrates you, but there is definatly a reason for those ads to be there and it is to benefit the rest of the members. If you have any questions about that just PM Lee himself and ask.

And such actions usually carry more severe consequences than you'll suffer on an Internet Forum. It's hard for some people to "get it".

Very true, Lee just gave you an informal smack to the back of the head. A patch holder would be looking for teeth and urinating blood at this point. However my intent is not to bash you, just to educate you in how this could have been properly handled without the disrespect and embarassment.

I personally value the American values of free spirit and free enterprise. I am sure that the internet has room for another Smith and Wesson forum that someone can pay for that would be ad free...of course, I ain't gonna do it, but of course I understand my treasury other than my donation isn't tied up in this forum, or any other forum.
However, anyone who doesn't like it is free to start their own forum...

My wife and I recently celebrated our 34th anniversary. In perspective it gives me the ability to ignore the ads I don't want to see.

To the OP:

If you're gonna throw a grenade to start a topic, maybe you could grace us with your presence to respond. Sounds like you were not logged in. Instead of asking why in a polite way, you come to someone's house and defecate on their porch. Maybe you can sell your product somewhere else.

He could be standing off watching right now to see what people think of the dookey on the porch. Or perhaps he is honing his salesmanship technique and will be back in shortly.

Animal crackers in my soup? If you don’t like them, eat around them.

If ads are your biggest problem of the day, you lead a charmed life. Enjoy the forum, the "lingere ladies" and toss a few bucks into the kitty if and when you can. This is a great place......

Sounds just like a quote from the OWSer's. Those that have it can, those who don't can't.

By the way, clicking on AD's doesn't generate funds. You have to BUY something from the AD's site for this forum to make any money.

Incorrect.
Clicking an ad pays us a few cents.

Which is the reason every time I come on the board, about 5 -6 visits a day, I click on several ads. It gets the board some money and, who knows, I just might end up wearing something pink and frilly !!
