Debbie and I went to Scottsbluff, NE for the weekend show. Set up on Friday night and made a big $2.00 sale before covering up.
Quite an interesting show. No Jerkey sellers, no scented candles, no arts and crafts, no junque. Just a real honest to goodness gun show.
Started off slow, but then roared to life.
Managed to see a 4" Diamondback .22 for $600, I was late getting my wallet out. Harry got it , but then I got it with a TC barrel for #2 son in a package. Cost me $700 to get it on my table.
Picked up a El Paso Saddelry .45 Threepersons holster and a unused EPS .45 Mag carrier for $50. .455 Mk II H.E. for $250 (barrel had been cut to 6" and front sight buggered) still in .455 caliber and all matching with some really nice grips.
Brought home some new treasures, left some dust collectors with other vendors, made some very good trades and got several consignment
pieces to try to move at future shows.
One unusual piece is a S&W .22 single shot. It was made from an early .38 revolver and a 10" single shot barrel fitted to the frame. The frame dates from 1877 and has been nicely reworked into a single show by some ancient gunsmith in the early part of the 20th century. Even in a period holster.
I know that the vast majority of the guys are going to give me grief for the lack of pictures. But I am not one of those TV fanatics. I like to read and don't need pictures for everything.
Besides, I am computer challenged enough just to get this typed in. I still have not learned how to post pics on the forum yet.
If you really have to have some Pics of something send me an email and I will send them as an attachment (I finally learned how to do that).
And lastly the food was prepared from scratch. Hand formed ground chuck hamburgers, pulled pork BBQ and prime rib sandwiches. Not the usual mystery meat weenies and soy burgers.
There are still some real shows happening around the country, just gotta have faith and look for them.
Admission was $4 for both days, and ample FREE parking.
Came home tired, well fed, lots of treasures and a pocket full of money for a change. Really makes up for the ones that cost me a arm and a leg to do and the expenses are paid out of pocket.
I hope everybody else had as good of a weekend as we did.
