Sweet rifle!!! I've owned several 45-70's. I shot a deer one time with my Ruger #1 using Remington 300 gr. soft points the off side was nothing but jelly . my favorite shooter was my H&R Trapdoor carbine. My most acurate was a Italian copy of a Remington rolling block with a 28" bull bbl.

I'll be in IL later this week on a buddy's lease. I have my tricked out Knight M-L sighted & ready to go. I'll pack in earnest later this week. Deer & coyotes will be on my list. I have one buck(either sex) tag & 2 anterless.
