I'm not looking for those bland, hard candy canes that will break the teeth out of your mouth and are only good for taking out to the range and shooting (after taking the plastic off of course, in case animals eat it)...but I think they now call them "soft" peppermint sticks. I used to buy the Bob's brand, that came maybe 20 or 30 to a box.

These are the kind that melt in your mouth, but can stick it in an orange and pull the orange juice up through it.

There aren't any stores around here that carry them any more- but they do have some terribly overpriced sugar cookies, which I suspect are so expensive because that red and green colored sugar on top is so hard to make.

I would imagine there is a Cracker Barrel near you somewhere. They carry the Bob's peppermint balls, and I would think at this time of year they may very well carry the sticks.

Don't know the brand name off hand, and am too lazy to get out of my comfy recliner to go check, but they make plain and chocolate covered sticks to use as stir sticks in hot chocolate.

I asked that several years ago and a friend of mine said here, and held up a glass gallon jug.the contents were milky with a red tint.It tasted like peppermint, but blew up when it hit your stomach:D

Here in East Texas, Bob's is in WalMart, Sam's, and Cracker Barrel, just to name a few. Beware, Bob's canes with the curled top are hard peppermint, not the soft, good stuff. I think the soft candy will say on the label. Definately the best peppermint.
