My Christmas Card
Me and a couple of guys had some fun with cameras and guns at work the other day. This is one of the results. This is me with a Thompson. Good times:

Close, but not quite there.
As you can see from this actual photo of John Dillinger that he did not tie his necktie quite so nicely (but the vest looks right), and he did not wear button down collars. In fact I think button down collars are an anachronism. I think they came later.
See: http://jhdillinger.fortunecity.com/dillinger3.jpg
Also the caption sounds more Clint Eastwood, than John Dillinger.
An authentic Dillinger quote would be nice:
OK, boys; let's go make a withdrawal. Merry Christmas.
Other than that, (and the fact that the image looks too finely crafted--a bit more grain and perhaps a sepia tone would work) nice work!

Well we were just trying to take some photos with a 30sish flavor. But I'm impressed as heck you spent that much time analyzing it. Glad you thought it worthy. We had a lot fun taking them. You should see our duck face version! LOL!!

If you look closely you will note the tie in question is not tied, it's a clip on. Only cops get a pass when it comes to wearing a clip on tie. GREAT pictures though, and you sure hit the 30's theme.

Yep, I'm in my 50s, and I still work at a job where I have to wear a nametag and a clip-on tie...

You know I haven't sat down and really looked that thing over. Think I'll do that tomorrow if I get a chance. I'll get back with ya on the specifics. It is the real deal though.

Very nice. You ever get a chance to qualify with the Thompson? I'd love to give one a try one of these days.

They are a hoot to shoot. It really eats up the .45 ammo though.I'm pretty sure the one we had was made before WWll.

That's either an M1 or an M1A1. I can't tell the difference from the outside, but the M1 had a separate firing pin while the M1A1 just has a teat on the end of the bolt. But that side-cocking is definitely WW2 or later. Guns made pre-war had the actuator (cocking knob) on the top. Like these these Russian Marines have.

Outstanding! You would fit right in with your Grandpa hunting 2 legged varmints in the Cookson Hills.

Dillinger
I don't see where the comparison to John Dillinger came from.
My first thought when I saw the pic was of one of the guys that hunted Dillinger.
Also - John wore his hair differently
