What did Santa bring you this year?
Nope, not everything but the best gift you got?
My daughter bought me a "511Tactical" dry rain shell. Never saw or heard of them before. Really neat for those of us that carry and work in the weather. Pull out ID panels. Three interpockets and four outer. Has two emergency sidearm accesses with quick releases. Best off, it is totally water tight.

Among other things I got an Eye brand barlow knife!
Merry Christmas everyone.
OOPS, I almost forgot, a two pound bag of Jelly Belly's. Yay!

An early clock-in time, 12 hrs comp time and 12 hrs of time and a half. Not to complain but he got me the same last year too. I really don't mind though, I have no family, so I'd rather work than someone who does have a family.
Merry Christmas!
p.s. I've seen A Christmas Story 3 times already today only 3 more times to go.

My Christmas present was a winning bid on a Sturmey Archer bell crank:
What is it, you may ask? The short answer is, it will facilitate the conversion of my FG4 Dynohub to five speeds. The hub will be laced into a 28-inch rim and will go on the rear of my Raleigh DL-1 to replace the three-speed that currently resides there:
Five-speed conversions of the Sturmey AW 3-speed hub are not uncommon, but converted 4-speed dynohubs are quite rare. Some people who work on them do not even believe the conversion is possible, but it is. I know of two others.
Sorry, no pics of the hub. I had a shop session with my Sturmey guru the other evening. We stripped the hub (purchased on Ebay several months ago), he pronounced it fit for further use, and he took it back to his machine shop in the North woods of Minnesota.
Looking at the internal workings of one of these devices leaves one in awe at their ingenuity, which is fully the equal of the best gun designers.

It was an early present.
I got this a couple of months ago under the agreement of an early Christmas present.
It's a 1949 Farmall Cub, but I think some of you may know that already. It's already in several pieces for restoring.
My wife did get me a couple of parts for it under the tree. I've never had a tractor before. I've always wanted one and it's very exciting.

That's a nice Cub Paul! Those Farmalls are rock solid and hardly ever quit! My uncle had 2 Super Cs and he ran the heck out of them.

Just a couple orphans I spotted on Gunbroker that looked like they needed a home.
Lots of Gen 3 9mm's and 40's from police and security companies starting to show up these days at very attractive
prices.
I'll clean them up, and play with them for a while until I'm sure they are well-socialized. Then probably try to find a
good home for them.
I detail-cleaned one of them so far. Founds lots of clumps of green lint imbedded in just about every crevice. Fair
amount of sandy grit too. Haven't got all of that out yet. Probably will range-test it before I do too much more
cleaning.
When I "detail clean" I go beyond a field strip, but short of complete disassembly. I pull the selector lever and the
firing pin from the slide, and I pull the backstrap and hammer spring from the frame. Then I completely drown
everything in Break Free. Blot it dry and blow out the crevices with compressed air. Lightly go around all the corners
and cracks with a dental pick. That level of disassembly gets these types of guns to about 90% of the cleanness of a
full disassembly, but without the hole-stretching that can come from driving pins out of the frame and the slide.
I'll repeat the detail clean after the range trip. The process of firing a couple boxes of ammo should dislodge more grit.

glwt06, I used to do a LOT of tractor work for guys on these old tractors when I had my body shop back in the early 90's in a small farm town in Kansas, I loved working with them as it gave me a chance to work with REAL METAL!!! You could actually do more than just replace panels on them, unlike the cars anymore.
Santa brought me the 18volt cordless drill that I've been needing since my 8 year old Black and Decker battery went belly up and costs more to replace than buying a new drill. A real nice, heavy, lined, hooded Moose Creek flannel shirt/jacket. A huge summer sausage, 1lb block of sharp cheddar cheese and box of Ritz crackers. Simple pleasures for a simple man.
I do wish Santa had refrained from bringing me the massive head cold and sinus infection late last night though, would have much preferred to spend the holiday sipping something other than cold medication@!

Since I got a bit of a temporary hitch in my git-along, Itchy went Christmas shoppin' for both of us.
Seems as if she done bought herself one of them I-pad things, and she got me a diamond necklace.
She says she's gonna borrow that necklace on kind of a permanent basis, and when I git to gittin' around, she wants me to buy her a gun that I think she'll like, and then she'll loan it to me.
That ol gal's a keeper and that's a fact.

A Tilley airflow khaki hat was the best gift someone else got me.
But then there's the gift I got myself.
A 2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500 heavy duty 4x4 with the 496 c.i. big block. Perfect history, 1 local rich guy owner and all it's towed is a bass boat. $5500 for the truck and $850 for a new set of Michelins.

I actually got two very nice presents, a Colt Combat Commander satin nickle NIB (which I posted a bit ago) then on Christmas morning the Wife surprised me with a gun I've been looking for, a Savage model 840 .30-30 bolt action in excellent condition.
Gotta love a Woman like that!

WOW !!! Ya'll made a "haul" for Christmas....all I got was socks and underwear.
Truth be known, I've been driving my Christmas presents for several months now....new Toyota FJ-Cruiser and Yamaha Grizzly ATV. Can't complain about the socks and underwear...besides I needed them.

Christmas kind of low key this year but did get a Poulan 16 inch electric chainsaw. Handy for the smaller, spur of the moment cutting chores. Don't have to worry about getting this one to start after sitting unused for months; well, as long as I pay the electric bill. Also received the famous SCSW I have wanted for a while. Know can at least answer most of my own S&W questions. Last, but not least, scored a Bianchi 5BHL holster for the 4-screw Mod. 17.

I got a Model 65-3 from a forum member as my Christmas present. It's shown here next to my Model 13-3. I haven't had a chance to shoot either of them yet. The sideplates get taken off tonight for a little cleaning and lubing.
Best regards,
Dave

My wife home from the hospital after spinal surgery and a scare that she would have no feeling in her legs. She still has numbness and needs a walker to get around, but I still have her. God willing, she will have a full recovery.

Doug, had that same scare in March. My wife woke from surgery and couldn't move her legs. Dr. came back at 10 that night and took her back to the operating room and redid the surgery. Her one day stay in the hospital turned into a month before she came home with a wheelchair and walker. Mine still has some numbness even now but only uses a cane when we are out. Around the house, she gets around fairly well. Prayers for your wife and her recovery.

My wife got me a M&P 45 Compact! What a woman: she works harder than me, saves better than me, is smarter than I am and has a bigger heart. Sometimes I marvel at how lucky I am.

The wife got me two pair of New Balance shoes that were the wrong style, and three Eddie Bauer shirts the wrong size. Santa brought me an afternoon with Pugsters snoozing on the sofa... perfect fit.
