Default IS THERE A "PISTOL OWNERS ANONYMOUS"

I think I have become addicted to buying Pistols and the irony is that even though I have a CCW I never carry a gun. I just like to go to the range and test my ability to shoot with them. In the past 12 months I bought 4 S&W (3 M&P and 1 SD9VE). I bought 5 Rugers (SR9,9C, 22, SR1911, LC380) and 2 Glocks (17 and 19)------After being in the USMC for 23 years--it was more than 20 years before I ever touched another gun. Then I bought 2 rifles, 1 shotgun and 2 pistols---after 2 years I sold them off and then started on another binge with 2 more pistols and another rifle all of which I sold off. I embarked on my latest binge about a year ago----every time I see another new toy I get an ache inside and just have to have it---this is nuts----I am 68 years old, retired and feel like a crack addict or a 15 year old who has acne and is always aroused but doesn't know what to do about either. I have always managed to get my money back when I finally get rid of a gun but this is becoming an obsession.
PS: I'll take my chances admitting that I am not an NRA member, totally disagree with the NRA leaders and believe that the right to own firearms is not absolute--but --I also admit that guns are addicting.

Is there one magic gun I can buy that will get me totally satisfied

Not sure that there is one. I'll stay tuned and see what advise you get from this thread! My guess there isn't one. Whatever you do, don't start buying revolvers because I already can tell you, there ain't no cure for that!! Can't help you with your NRA opinion. They're all we have and we need all the help we can get right now....

One? Why on earth would you think that any one gun will fill the bill? That's like expecting Tiger Woods to toss one golf club in the trunk of his car and head off to the Master's. How many frying pans does the little lady have? No sir. You need more. Much, much more. If you start now, maybe you'll get enough before Mr. Reaper shows up at your door. One. The very idea.

Default First step

Well, you have taken the first step by admitting that you have such a condition. Acceptance is the key. Accept that you love guns and that there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Why would anyone want to join it. If it will make you feel better, I will agree to monitor you, mentor you and take care of many of those for you.

Yes, the Smith & Wesson Forum.

An area for every addition. Actually, we're just a bunch of enablers.

When your current binge subsides and you decide to sell, let me know.

i think that if you were to buy an older S&W revolver , you would be much less likely to sell it off later.
and if you did youd regret it.

Welcome Brother! You're in the right place!

As an aside, since you brought it up, I would suggest taking a fresh look at the NRA, or perhaps GOA or SAF. This is not a time for firearm enthusiasts to be on the fence.

Default NRA will help you keep trading

Don't you remember what happened to the cigarette smokers. No smoking at work - no smoking near the door - then no smoking in covered parking lots. On and on they chipped away.

If not for the NRA you would not be buying and selling handguns right now. Trust me on that.

You do not want guns to go the way of the Big Gulp soda in New York.

Next the obsessive compulsives that want to outlaw all good tasting food and big comfortable cars will go after my Chocolate. You help me and I will help you. Join the NRA.
