Default 2nd Chance Gun

Was going thru the racks at a small LGS. Picked up a old familiar looking gun. Man....

Back in 2007, Construction was going South.

I had to sell off a custom build that meant a lot to me. It was a work in progress. The shop owner gave me a fair price on the gun we had both been conspiring on. Never saw it in the rack. Assumed he had sold it.

He passed away about two years back. His son is now running the business. Tucked away in a corner of the shop, hidden among some military guns...my gun was buried.

It was moved out to the main gunracks this week. Walked in and found it scary quick tonight....just as I left it, four years ago....

And the Red Gods must have smiled....

Giz

Started with a war marked Mauser. Much work later it is a 25-06 heavy barrel contour varminter....

Getting a 2nd chance to finish her is with mixed emotions... My buddy Bob, who passed away.... Really liked the gun. We had a tough time mounting the scope and spent hours on it one Sat. morning. Clearing the bolt and keeping it low was the goal. Must have tried a dozen combinations. The gun brings back a lot of memories, ...

Anyrate it has a Corelite Precision stock, a Adams and Bennett F34 taper 1/10" twist barrel, custom boltwork, and a duracoat finish. Trigger is Timney, if memory serves right.

I hope you went out and bought a lottery ticket right after that. Karma was your friend that day.
