NAME THAT GRIP.........
I can't remember where I got this set of grips.
They have finger grooves and fit a S&W N Frame Square Butt. I'm guessing they could also work on a Round Butt.
The grips are cut out in two spots. On the back strap, there's an oblong oval; on the front, there's a small "window" where the angled point of the square butt is located.
The insides show many machine markings, as if they were hand carved.
I think the wood is Rosewood.
Has anyone seen an example like this?

I've got a pair of Sandersons with the cutouts in Rosewood, but the upper profile looks completely different than yours.

My best guess is Eagle grips.

They look a little like some Ruger grips I've seen.
The front cut-out is about the same size as the Sandersons I've seen. However, it is entirely squared, not arched, like the top of the Sandersons.
I wish I could remember where I got them.

Those are a slightly modified pair of Mustangs in what appears to be Rosewood.

That is my guess also. I have some K frame Mustangs W/fingergrooves. (somewhere around here) Mine are not modified, but for some reason your grips brought mine to mind immediately.

I think moosedog is right. The upper portions of the grips are shaped exactly like Mustangs and we can see what appears to be the remnants of finger grooves that were sanded away. It looks like someone took a set of old Mustang oversized combat grips and modified them to what we see here. Sanding the wood down would also bring the sunken escutheons to the surface, as pictured, too.

Makes sense; Mustangs do seem like the most logical source.
Thanks for everyone's input.
