Belton, Texas gunshow
I went to the Belton, Texas gunshow this morning. This is usually a pretty good show for a small show. BUT, today was a total waste of my time and money. The show had about 1/3 the usual vendors and half of them were beef jerky, candles etc.

PS I have made some really great finds at this show so I was really disappointed.

when I was at Ft. Hood from 1983-1986 I always avoided Belton like the plague...they were nationally known for being a speed trap that would get you for one or two miles over the limit on the highway...and they LOVED service men & women...
I went to some good wrestling matches in Temple though, and I really enjoy the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame in Waco...
no real point here...just sharing my thoughts of Belton...sorry you had no luck at the gunshow...no one likes a wasted day..

Me and my two hunting buddy's got the opportunity in 1982 to spend some time in their downtown hilton after being pulled over out on the interstate while on our way to our deer lease in Junction. However, they probably did us and everybody else in Texas a big favor that day.

Nearby Klleen has some of the best barbecue beef ribs that you will ever have in a string of gas stations converted to restaurants. You order "one", that gets you a great plate of beef ribs topped with an onion and then you can choose your long neck. Next time, get some ribs in Killeen after the show and your day will be salvaged if the show stinks.

My sister lives in Salado-- and we eat at Kileen if we don't have time to get to Cooper's in Llano.
I have wanted to go to a show in that area for years but always seem to miss the chance.
Too bad that their shows have gone the way of most shows--no guns and those that are for sale are WAY too much.
Blessings
