Rec'd this from my MIL, it was her mom's.

I cleaned her up, haven't shot it yet. Would make a neat woods gun, can shoot all .22, short, long, LR.

Can anyone give me a proximate value? No, not for sale, just curious as to how much it's increased from the $65.00 it first sold.

Thanks.

I like H&Rs for what they are. Inexpensive (notice, I did not say cheap) little 22s and 32s that do what they were made to do. For the most part, they are not collectors items (there are some exceptions). I have a couple, and use them as loaner guns to my (non-gun) family members (sister and mother-in-law). I have never paid over $130.00 for one in very good condition.

Thanks for the values, I don't know what year it was made....guess I could call H&R with S/N.

Looks like stainless steele, maybe the cylinder is...guess the frame is "nickol."

Maybe. I'm thinking it originally cost less and the price on the box was a secondary sale. I could be wrong.

That's possible. I'm intrigued now, so I may call H&R and see if they can provide some info.

I looked up the 929 and 930. It seams as the 930 was produced until 1986. I could be wrong was an understatement.
This was a shooting times review. They also stated it was chrome.

Hmmm.

I've sold a couple of these, in.22 and .32 calls, in the last year. Sold in the $185-$10 range, as I recall. They were new, unfired, but no boxes. I had bough them in a gun store going out of business sale some years ago. They are a lot of gun for the money. Ed.

Here's some price info out 3 of my old catalogs/etc.:

1969 Gun Digest doesn't show it, but does show an H&R model 949. Those sold new at that time for $43.50.

My 1971 Shooter's Bible shows the 930 priced at $54.95. By the way, the 930 was the Deluxe version of the standard model 929 Sidekick. The 930 deluxe was "nickel and 4 inch barrel", according to that source.

I have a 1981-82 copy of a local gun store catalog. They were selling the 930 for $110 at that time.

Very informative.....Thanks!

Interesting.Nickol must be some kinda code word. Learning hurts.
:D:D:D:D:D

I hit Wiki and it says:

H&R model 930 (.22 LR & nine shot revolver, nickel finish)

And the mystery continues.....but it does say nickel on the label.

That would bring ~$200 around here these days. You used to be able to pick them up for the price on the box, but I wasn't interested in them then. :(

In another 40 yrs, it may top out close to $300!!!

But, I'll be 80 so one of my boys will have to decide what to do.
