Korth Prices
A friend of mine just made contact with Korth USA. A Sport Model six inch .357 revolver with Stainless color Plasma finish was quoted to him at $14,000. He asked me if this is the new going rate for a Korth. Any of you guys familiar with their pricing lately?

I've only ever seen 2 or 3 in person , and handled only one. I don't get it? The high prices that is. And even as a toolmaker myself , I really wasn't that impressed and the owner told me it really wasn't that accurate. I'll stick with my 1960 vintage Colt Python.

I got to hold one once, it looked very nice but really no better than a vintage Colt or S&W. If memory serves the Korth I looked at was priced at 5K, that kind of scratch gets you into Reg Mag territory, and for 14k you could get nice Reg Mag with a box, and they go up in value.

Funny that this should come up. I'm reading a book where an unemployed cop's wife buys a Korth for protection after her husband is severely wounded on duty and will be in the hospital for several months. I was trying to figure out how she could afford one. I guess it really is a work of fiction.

I don't care how hard the whatever alloy of steel is, whatever the crazy light saber finish is, or whatever the rarity is... Not even if I sat down on the toilet and money fell out my butt would you ever see me pay $14K for a gun.

until a couple of years ago,the target model with adj. sites and 6in bbl was in $5000 range. as to the last 2-3 years i can't say with certainty, but i don't believe that quoted price. as to the man that wouldn't pay that price for any gun, you need to get out more.

It is now very clear to me, why I've never heard of a Korth...

I believe Swissman has one. He put up a video of the gun at the target range. I'll bet he didn't lay out that kind of do-re-mi. Maybe he'll chime in. Of course, it would be impolite to ask how much it set him back.

I would love to try one out someday. The biggest issue they have (besides the price) is very poor marketing. For that kind cash, it should be fairly easy to occasionally get the opportunity to try one out.

Hello m-1911,
The Korth Combat 3" with adj. rearsight cost me back then 2000.--Swiss-Francs = US$ 1560.-- It was a private-to-private-deal
in winter 2005. Today the same gun with the actual currency-rate would cost CHF 2000.-- = US$ 2332.--
The sport-version with the target-rearsight and the longer barrel are much more expensive.
Click into the picture to see the video. Sorry for the poor quality. The video was made with a Casio pocket-camera....
...and here some old pictures from winter 2005... Today I would clean the gun better before I take pictures..

Swissman-
How does the cylinder release work? Do you pull back, or push forward to open the cylinder?
What do you think of the gun, overall?
Does CHF (on the cost) mean Confederation Helvetica Francs?
Thanks for your post. You always have some of the most interesting information seen here.

Texas Star
Here my opinons and additional informations..
How does the cylinder release work? Do you pull back, or push forward to open the cylinder?
You can see in the end-sequence of the video how I push the release forward with the thumb and that I swing the cylinder out with the indexfinger
What do you think of the gun, overall? The surface, the treatment of the internal and the lockworkparts are highest quality.
The steel-treatment is incredible. The surface is superhard. The accuracy is with many different loads and bullets very impressive.
The action is just smooooooth.
The gripdesign is good. If I had a second grip, I would round the sharp "horizontal" edges at bit, which are located at the upper third of the grip.
Does CHF (on the cost) mean Confederation Helvetica Francs?
Nope, it is the ISO-code. Look here: ISO 4217 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
