Do you ever shoot with your weak hand?
Other than mandatory qualifications at the Police Departments that I worked for, I don't recall shooting with my weak hand very often. I have tried weak hand shooting several times recently and I found that my accuracy was not affected very much but my speed was much slower.
How many of you shoot with your "other hand" , how often, and what were your results?
I had an accident in my pre-teens that almost resulted in my having my right hand surgically amputated. Has anyone been FORCED to shoot with their "other hand"?

Everytime I shoot I get some support hand shooting in. It only makes sense if your training for a potential gunfight.

It is a regular part of IDPA and USPSA matches, so strong and weak hand practice are routine.
I was RO on a sectional USPSA stage that required weak hand shooting and was surprised when one shooter said they never had shot weak handed, and didn't want to try!! Their club never required it, and he didn't see any value in it. I suggested he try it anyway, or he would zero out the stage...he did see that point.
I'm almost as good strong hand as freestyle, but slower weak hand, as are most people. I know one converted southpaw pistol shooter who is scary fast with his "weak" left hand.

I shoot weak handed all the time. It's not so weak anymore. I actually shoot as good with either hand.

Yeah, I shoot left handed (I'm a righty of course) every time I go to the range. I carry my M340PD all the time in my left front pants pocket. It is almost always my BUG. I don't shoot great with it, but I do pretty well.
Shooting a 12 oz. revolver with full power .357 Magnum loads is definitely not fun. Even more so with the non-dominant hand. Hope I never have to do it when somebody is shooting back.

I am pretty spastic with my weak (left hand) especially with a semi auto. I can shot fair but can not control my hand swinging left from recoil.
A competition shooter showed me a trick. If you hold the pistol semi gangster style (slight tilt to the right. It really helps keep you on target.

I am right handed but left eye dominant. I taught myself to shoot southpaw when I started shooting BB guns as a kid. I shoot with both hands about equally well, so I practice with both when I go to the range.

I did practice off-hand when I carried at work and had to pass the county qualification. I still do it occasionally but nowhere near as much as I probably should. Since I'm extremely right eye dominant it makes for a somewhat awkward stance when shooting left-handed or off-hand around a barrier. My off-hand scores were always fine, though. Maybe it was the extra concentration, but one year I actually shot off-hand barrier with a better score than strong-hand barrier. Color me surprised.
Strong hand it doesn't matter if I'm shooting a revolver or a semi-auto, but I do find that left-handed I shoot a semi-auto more comfortably than a revolver, if it is a large (N) frame revolver. J-Frame doesn't seem to be an issue.

Weak hand
Yes, most every match someone sets up something weakhand.
It's good training.

I'm kinda center eyed, left handed, and can't wink with my left eye, so I shoot left handed. Lately I've been trying left and right single hand shooting and found I shoot much better than I ever thought I would shooting with my weak hand. Go figure.

Before the strokes, I was ambidextrous. I could weld, write and shoot about equally well with either hand. Now, not so much. But you normal people should practice with both hands, cause you never know.

I usually switch over to lefty w/ rifle and shotgun during the course of weekly range and skeet time.
More of a 'let's see if I can do it' than anything else. Surely not in training for anything.
They did have us shoot 25yrd left hand Off Hand and 25 & 50yrd left handed Barricade back when the dinosaurers still roamed the earth.
Them deadly 158grRNL were said to be quite effective as long as a windshield wasn't between you and the other guy.
Not much lefty shooting with handgun anymore,,I'd be afraid I'd drop the thing if it's more than a .22. I've lost some of my grip.

I shoot periodically with my left hand, but probably not as much as I should. I'm definitely a better shot with my right hand. I also practice one-handed manipulations of my gun right and left-handed, including drawing and reloading, from time to time.

my regular practice sessions are ………..single handed grip, 60% weak hand, 40% strong hand, DAO. I have become fairly accurate with all my S&W revolvers, using either hand.

Yes, quite often. I also practice loading one handed with both hands and cocking and loading semi-autos one handed.

I always practice strong hand, two hand and weak hand. Back in my bar hopping days I was pretty good at throwing darts weak handed too.

Years ago as a Fed Agent I was required to practice with the off hand. Now that I have had a muscle cut in my right arm and have to start all over and learn to use the off hand again.

Everytime I go to the pistol range, unless I sighting in a pistol at longer ranges. I do it just for fun and to keep in pratice. Probably about 20% of my shooting is with weak hand now that I'm retired.

i shoot at least one or more magazines every range trip weak handed. cross eye dominant so other than not feeling right shooting left handed i can still hit the target. rifles are a different story.

I practice regularly with my left/weak hand. I may not be able to pick my nose with my left hand, but I can shoot pretty well with it.

I hven't done it in years. Some time ago, when our club held concealed carry pistol matches, the course of fire varied every match but at least one stage was fired weak hand. I practiced dry firing at home and got a little better at it but I never was very good.

While learning to shoot DA with the 642, I started shooting
left-handed. A little slower and not as accurate. Now I shoot
either/or plus two-handed. As stated, "You never know..."

I have retrained myself to shoot with my left (weak) hand. I am right handed, but left eye dominant. I tried every trick in the book to shoot with my right hand, and I would have been more accurate throwing a fistful of rounds at the target.
Switched to the left.....bingo! I was putting rounds right where I wanted them every time.
Now, I am waiting rather impatiently for UPS to deliver my left side holster.

I am left eye dominant so I tend to bounce back and forth with a handgun. I tend to shoot with my right hand but I'm comfortable using my left. Long guns I'm way better off shooting left handed as I can't seem to get the hang of it right handed. It's fun to mess around and it can't hurt to be somewhat familiar using a firearm with your weak side.

right handed, left eye dominent, shoot long gun left handed but feel just fine shooting right handed, pistol both hands or right handed, very rarely do I shoot my pistol left handed. on that note I'm headed to the range in the am, maybe i'll give it a shot.... pun intended

Yes. And when I carry two, I always carry one in a weak hand-accessible position. What's to say you'll always be able to get at your primary with your strong hand?

All the time. I actually shoot better slow fire SA one handed with my weak hand than my right.
Might be because I concentrate harder on basics. And no, I'm not cross eye dominant.

I do cowboy action shooting a bit and like to shoot Gunfighter style, where you are holding a gun in each hand and firing sequentially. Yep, that's fun! Especially when you do it with a pair of Ruger Old Army revolvers loaded up full with 3F blackpowder.
