Flintlock gunshow find....
Having hunted with a variety of Flintlocks, imagine my surprise in finding this little gem. She is a assortment of various gun parts. A cut down 20 ga. barrel at less then 24" was the start of the build. A full stock had to be cut down to fit its diminutive size.....and it was in a New England fowler pattern. A L&R English round faced lock was employed. The entire gun uses iron furniture instead of brass. A custom rear sight was made for it as was a turtle style front sight. The trigger is hand made and pinned back to gain additional leverage.
And she is a shooter...keeping roundball in a tight group at 25 yards and patterning shot like a much longer barrelled smoothbore.
It is a smooth rifle, in what is termed a Canoe Gun length...

Well it is a "Flintlock rifle" they throw sparks everywhere.
Guess he had to empty a fire extinguisher at all that dry grass around him

I like it.
The only two flinters I own are a Dixie Gun Works Tennessee mountain rifle, .50 caliber, and a Navy Arms 1803 Harpers Ferry rifle, .58 caliber.
Got a bunch of percussion guns though.
giz, show us a picture of the front sight. I haven't seen a turtle sight in quite a while.

I wonder if the gun was originally meant for grouse and woodcock but converted for beaver?
