Why are we seeing political adds???

Not trying to be political but why are political adds popping up in the add column? I know its not a result of my searches as I do not do any surfing on political stuff.

Probably because not every ad is specifically targeted based on your surfing. If you contribute to the forum financially (I have done Bronze Level) you won't see the ads, except for the very top one, anymore.

I am aware of the contribution resulting in no ads at all. The adds really don't bother me, its the political part that does. I see enough of this **** everywhere else!!! I thought this was sacred ground!

Nope, sorry. The site does not select the ads. They are provided by a service which does it. So they don't have much in the way of say as to what shows up. We've seen several political ads for a non-2A kind of president who shall remain nameless but we would rather have their dollars coming to the forum than to be used where they might actually do some good. Just a thought...

A FORUM CONTRIBUTION level and BAM the ad column disappears.

The topic has been beaten to death. Several things to keep in mind.

- Just maybe, you're seeing political ads because it's an election year. The owner doesn't select the ads and their presence should not be taken as an endorsement. Without the revenue they provide and member donations, we wouldn't be here.
