Well guys, it's the weekend! Who is going to a gun show, and what are you looking for. We have saved up since the last show or great find. It would be an interesting thread to post what you are trying to find,...gun model? grips? holsters? ammo type/make? Or whatever. The shows are what we usually wait for. Please tell your secret needs! Skip48

I went to a local show last weekend. Had some cash and was looking for older P&R revolvers. What few I found were way overpriced. Also looking for my .357 Magnum carry load, Federal 125 Grain JHPs. None there. OK, I need some more Bianchi Speed Strips, surely SOMEBODY will have some...... right? Wrong, not one to be found.
Lots of hats, socks and beef jerky though.

Oh, it wasn't a total loss. I joined the ranks of M&P 15-22 owners. $440 OTD with a spare magazine.

Sometimes the unexpected is kinda nice.

Nothing in my area.

But I always keep some money in a jar for gun show weekends. I rarely go in search of any specific item, that always seems to end in disappointment. Instead I just go from table to table waiting for that bargain to appear. And when it does, I snatch it up. If it doesn't, I go home having got to handle several dozen guns. So it's always win-win.

Went to the York Pa show last week. Bought a couple soft cases for my herd. Wanted to get some hard cast boolits for my 38/357s but the boolit man wasn't there. I've been looking for a model 30 or 31 but didn't see any. Did see some good buys on a couple of model 36's and 10's though. This week there's a show right here in Carlisle so I'll continue my search there. I've also been looking for a couple parts for a Marlin 39A I bought at the Gettysburg show last month. I know I can get what I need at Brownell's or Midway but I'm in no hurry and it's fun to search the shows.
In this neck of the woods there's one or two shows a month and though you'll see a lot of the same stuff, something new comes along often enough to make it worthwhile.

Going to a RK show tomorrow. I have several Smiths I am trying to acquire, so I will be looking for, in no order of importance, a M12, M37, M25, M325, M625 and, want to check out a holster or two from a guy who makes them and is going to be there tomorrow. And lastly, any Smith that is a good deal.

Went looking for S&W Model 39s, and a set of grips for a 539.

Came home with a Navy shoulder holster for a Victory, complete with elastic cartridge loops sewn on the shoulder strap, a 45 Squad cleaning kit (M1912?), and 100 rounds of WW I and 1920-1930 45 ACP with primer pockets for the FA primer (They'll need to be reamed to large primer size before using). Oh, and I did get a set of grips for the 539.

While Iggy was sipping coffee and swapping yarns in Laramie (the far side of the Mountain from here) I attended the show sponsored by the Scootsbluff (NE) shooters in Mitchell, NE. Got about 1000 through the door.
Grabbed a clean (but blue wear) J frame in the box and was headed to my table to grab some $$$ when the guy says the dreaded words..."Thats a .32". I never looked just thought I had found a silk purse for $300. I thought it was a flatlatch M36. With out missing a beat I yelled for my buddy Harry to bring his bank bag and grab this one. He is into sub calibers. Turned out to be a M30-1.
Sitting beside it was a 6" Model 19-3 TTT with beautiful dark grips. Only negative is a heavy turn line...but the price was right at $475. It now lives on my table. And not to be a pig I settled down and let the others get into the act. Then struck again on Sunday. Grabbed a Beretta Cheeta Model 84 in the box with all the goodies and two 13 rd. mags for another $475. I di leave him with a nice late model Colt Cobra at $795, just a bit more than I wanted to spend and try to get anything out of it.
Traded four 40S&W Sig mags for a 6" presentation case and tools plus $45 back to me. Made $5 on the mags and got the box for free. Off to Cleveland as soon as Joe gets caught up with the ones he has.
Colt .22s seemed to be the new thing this week. Must have been at least 20 our for sale on scattered across several different tables. Everything from the early ones to the last ones produced. But at $1K+ each just a bit out of my budget, and interest area.
We are seeing a marked increase in attendance at the shows in the last month.
Gilette had over 1700 through the door two weeks ago. Brule, NE (pop 411) had 1400 through the door. Mitchell, NE and Larame both had 900-1000 through the door. And the folks are spending. So that part of the economy seem to be improving, but don't think that what the guys and gals in DC are wanting.
There are some goodies still out there and deals to be had.
Two Wyoming Shows happening in the next two weeks will be up in the North Central part of the state...you can see Montana from there...in Worland, WY. Big Horn Basin Gun Club Show on Saturday and Sunday of this week.
Next week is the Weston County Sportsman's Club Show in Newcastle, WY, way up next to the Black Hills in the north east corner on Saturday and Sunday.
Look for the announcements as we get closer.
Happy Hunting,

Went looking for a M686 2 1/2 inch .357 and bought one.

Went looking for a Colt 3rd SAA and bought one.

Wasn't looking but I traded into a 4 inch M34-1 and bought a Colt Detective Special made in 1958.

I'm very or should I say VERY happy!

Looking for older K and N frames, along with WWll pistols, 1911s and the like.
Old ammo too.
No Jerky. They won't let me bring my beer in, so Jerky
won't taste the same.

I went to the gun show at Westland Mall in Columbus, Ohio last weekend. I hadn't been in a few years. Contrary to my last experience, this show was stuffed FULL of guns. There were still the vendors hawking $40 concealed carry T-shirts (really?), beef jerky, socks, camo clothing, or other things I generally find useless. But there were guns, guns, and more guns. Even my local shooting range and gun shop showed up.

It was *crowded*. One vendor in the middle of the now-abandoned J.C. Penney's where the show is routinely held must have reserved at least 10 tables. They wheeled in their mobile carts of handguns, and had no fewer than four tables just so buyers could fill out the required gubmint forms. And based on the number of forms I saw filled out, business was a-boomin'.

I went looking for a cheap Remington 870 Express. What I found were dozens and dozens of Mossberg 5X0 shotguns in all shapes, sizes, grips, and prices. The place was *awash* with Mossberg shotguns, with virtually no 870's to be found. Maybe my next purchase will be a Mossberg.

I'm not a gun aficionado, meaning I don't collect guns, buy/sell/trade guns, or pay attention to the price of guns. However, for the limited number of guns I know, I'd say you'll still get a better price at Vance Outdoors than you would have at most of the tables, and you don't have to pay $8 to get in the door at Vance.
