Court Rig aka "BBQ Rig"
I know some of you call it a BBQ Rig, but I'm off to district court this morning and thought I would break out the "fancy rig". The holster is a Looper Leather bucket with leather thong over the hammer and a custom 16 round "loop loader" for my S&W Model 627. I carry the revolver daily, just not the holster. Anyone else wants to show off there rigs post them up. Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.

That's great! I've never seen anything like that around here. Nothing but Glocks and more Glocks.

I have that same problem. Awhile back I tried on some OD stuff from when I was in the 'bees and all of it had shrunk just sittin' in the footlocker. Guess milspec ain't as durable as they say.

Great looking rigs guys. Sadly leather does tend to shrink as the years go buy.

It ain't just leather that does that! The material they're makin' my pants out of shrinks somethin' awful!

They wouldn't let me wear it in court, but for barbecues, I wear this.
Holding these.

Alpo I think the judge must be a communist not to let you wear that in court. Those are some beautiful rigs guys. Wish we could wear something other than the black patton leather, but with a little furniture polish it really shines up nice.

Now my BBQ rig and Court rig are two different animals.
I've worn this get-up to Court a few times...With a coat and without the hat.
* Put this picture up one time and some Yankee called me a poser...
Well hell's fire, the most dangerous place in the south west is between me and a camera!
Everyone knows that! *Gees*
Might find a better pic of that rig sumwheres...I'll be lookin'
Found 'em!
Court Rigs for ol slabsides & one for the RM.
BBQ & Fandango Rig...
Su Amigo,
Dave

Mighta been the same yankee that insulted me.
Said I was dressing up and prancing around. The holster on my hip has a Ruger Bisley Vaquero in it. Can't prance with that on your hip.

Gotta love setting half the day waiting on the trial to go only for the bad guy to plead out. Didn't even get to show off my rig to the judge and jury. Oh well. Whats the saying, "All dressed up and no place to go." Guess I'll go back home and take a nap. Great looking rigs out there.

Most of you have seen this one Dave built for me, but I reckon it's worth another look.
I'm as proud of this rig as a puppy with a new rubber ball.

That is a fine bucket holster. I'm going back to one along with my model 66, just waiting on the leather maker to get my rig done. By the way are those Herrett Stocks on your magnum?

Im guessing you court-rig-wearing guys are LEOs. I know if i walked into my court house with a semi pointy pencil i'd be in cuffs fast!
I gotta get me a fancy rig but all i have are Glocks, MPs and HKs

A friend asked me what I meant by bar-b-que rig. I just told him to invite me to a party and he'd understand.

I need a matching belt though.

I sure as heck can't compete with Dave or any of you others when it comes to photography, but, copying Dave's examples, here's a "court rig"....
and a "barbecue rig."
Remember, Dave...imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Your pard,
Chip

This came with a 1952 Vintage K-38 Target Masterpiece that I recently acquired. It is probably the same age. I need about another foot of belt to get it to fit me.
The gun looked like it spent some time in the holster, but it still shoots great.

You guys sure have some great looking leather & belts. Makes my old Colt SA in a plain Jane Lawrence #120 look poorly. But when I bought the holster back in 1957 it's all I could afford. My Colt is 5 years older than myself & I was born in 1931.

Very nice all; I'm still thinking over a rig to have made up for court.
My hang-up is that I can't decide though if I should base it on the Commander, 3.5'' 27 or a 58.

This one doesn't have all that fancy scratching on it, but it sure is comfortable for my Model 27, an old Bianchi.
This old Tex Shoemaker though was nice to carry my old M & P around in.

This is the same basic rig as in the pics I put up in post #12, I had another matching holster made for my custom Colt 1991A1 Compact.

Purdy rigs for sure.
Don't have a court rig, as in my geographical location, #1 - No one would have any appreciation for it., #2 They wouldn't even know what it is/was.
AND - I can't imagine having something that nice to wear to a place that has a track record of mostly being a waste of my time for so many years.
NICE rigs though.

I do not have a photo of the leather that came with it, but I purchased the Colt in the center from a lady in Ohio. Her late husband wore the rig "for Church and other important things" It's a SAA black powder frame that he had converted to smokeless in .41 Colt.

This one has been posted before, but I just love to show off our own Wyatt Burp's fine leather work. Being a civilian, I try to say out of court, but I love to go to the BBQ dressed in my very best....

That is a great looking holster, and some very fine looking grips.
I just picked up a Remington R1 stainless 1911 and I have had 5 sets on it, still haven't found the ones I like yet.

Hey macbullet ... what bamabiker said.
That's a beautiful setup and I agree - you need to make a belt too.

macbullet, I like it. It's not the typical basketweave or floral pattern. Don't get me wrong, if done right those two patterns are very nice.
You came up with something different, original and aesthetically pleasing. I agree with the others that ya do need to come up with a belt to compliment that fine work.
