Useless to some, not to me, my slide rules. I still use them.
However, there are some very handsome suits in my closet. It was some time ago that I told them I would be back, but we just don't get together anymore.

The only thing that is valuable to me is an old Winchester model 68 single shot bolt action 22 rifle with peep sights that I grew up with. It belonged to my Dad and has a lot of memories attached. Other things lost in a divorce many years ago have been long gone.

This is yet another reason I spend so much time here. I am with people who understand me.
I never throw anything away.Hey, I might need that someday! I still have our first cell phone. It's a "brick" phone, about 8" high with an antenna that sticks up several more. Got it 20 years ago this coming Christmas.
Still have all my old vinyl records and 8-Track tapes. I still have an 8-track player that works really well, so I can still listen to them.
I have, in a (large) box in the attic, every note I ever got from girls in Jr. High, High School and beyond. Missus P&R Fan knows about it, and I've told her she can read 'em if she wants to. She passed.
When I take the Dirt Nap, my kids and Wife are gonna have a heck of a time going through my stuff. I hope they realize what's valuable and what's not. But as a previous poster said, who cares, I'll be dead, and I hear it's pretty good up there in Heaven.

I dont know how to sell anything. I hate to throw out stuff. I was raised that way, I had to hold a auction just before my dad went to the convalesent hospital was the worst time of my life. Stuff they saved and treasured forever I couldnt keep as I lived over 2,000 miles away. It all went for next to nothing. My wife has no compunction about giveing stuff away or just throwing it out. I have a thousand books I probley wont read, a dozzen boots I cant wear or bare to get rid of, a couple dozzen hats and caps I seldom wear. Through the years I gained and lost weight so many times I am afraid to throw out cloths that dont fit.
We have one car and two nice old trucks. We dont really need two trucks but I will be darned if I will sell a perfectly nice old truck (2001 silverado) for a couple thousand and pay a fortune for another to replace it later. You get right down to it, I have a fortune in guns I probley wont ever use. Of course, I have several I do use and carry, but apart from that. I often thought it would be fun to pick up every item I own and ask myself would I buy it again? And were it possible to have the money I paid for it, (inflation adjusted) sell it for that? I have a hunch my house and garage would almost be empty and bare, yet we would have everything we need AND MONEY TO GO DO THE THINGS I DREAMED I ALWAYS WANTED TO IN RETIREMENT!

A client of mine asked me what souvenier I'd like from China. He brought back a piece of stone that he claims is from the Great Wall. I'm not even sure it's authentic but I hang on to it anyway. At least it says MADE in CHINA.
