Revolvers Are In Vogue With The Younger Set!!

I was helping a friend man the table at the gunshow. A kid barely eight or nine and his older brother walk up. The littlest one says, in a matter of fact voice, "Got any Pythons?"

I politely said, "No we sure don't".

He says, "Really? No Pythons?"

I said, "No." Then I said, "How many do you want?"

He says, "Two."

His father walks up. Looks about 30ish and not really a gun guy. He says, "What's a Colt Python? What does it look like?"

I explained it as best I could.

Dad says, "I'm not sure where these two boys learned about Colt Pythons but they have been bugging me about them. I think they are seeing them on their computer cops and robbers games."

I'm guessing revolvers are playing out on these computer games and soon the eight year olds and up will be swarming the gun shows with cash in hand looking for "Pythons" amd maybe "Dirty Harry" guns.

I think the Python is available to use in the Call of Duty games. That's probably where the kids found about it.

I have a feeling the tv show The Walking Dead has something to do with Python interest.

I have a Garand and a 1911A1 because that is what I saw being carried on the silver screen in my formative years. I’ve owned a Thompson and M1 Carbine and while I’ve fired the BAR and M3 Grease Gun never fulfilled my desire to own every firearm carried on the show Combat by purchasing those two. There is an old adage that you buy in middle age what you could not afford as a kid. Sounds like you ran into some future firearms enthusiasts.

My 11 year old daughter loves revolvers. And yes, she wants a Python. She hasn't seen one in any video games or on TV, only in my gun books.

She has said that she would "settle" for a Diamondback.

If only I could sway her over to the S&W side.......

11yr old girl? Probably the "horsey" connotation in the Colt name that she finds attractive. By time she's 18 she'll be starting a Smith collection too.
