Ice Targets
Has anybody seen this yet? I found this at LGS in Kalamazoo MI. Good for anything from airsoft to .44 mag. Great for fooling around in the back yard. Targets made of ice, No picking up cans or plastic pieces. ecotargetmold - Ecotarget Home

It is a good idear. But you have to be fast. Otherwise your target is melting.

On the website they have a recipe for mixing sawdust with the water. It's supposed to hold up well in the heat, But I don't think it explodes like the ice does. I made a batch of plain ice ones and kept them in a cooler till I was ready to shoot. They blew up really well. I was using a model 18 at about 7 to 10 yards. As the mold only makes 9 targets, I need to make some extra batches and keep them in the freezer.

My brother and I used to add a little food coloring to the water in the ice cube trays.
Set 'em on a fence post and pop 'em with our BB guns. Great fun.
I may just have to make up a few and take my 8-year-old grandson out for some fun.

I fill my empty Guiness cans about 2/3 full of water and then freeze them. They are great for .22 plinking with the extra weight. Of course when you act like a child and hit one with .45lc that is pretty mich the end of that target but you do get some good crushed ice for your soda

My all-time favorite target is a nice long icicle on a cold, sunny day. Start at the bottom and work your way up, with each hit producing a shower of glowing fragments. And the guns don't stay hot for long!

I fill coffee creamer bottles with water & freeze them. They act very similar to bowling pins, and can withstand several shots, even from 45's. Take a set of cheap saw horses & make a quick bench to shoot them off of.
Easy cleanup tips are removing the labels and screw on caps, as they are the only things that make a mess when shot.
