asking seriously here, i heard rumors that there was a steroid dealer busted in dc sometime before the season started and, supposedly, one of his biggest clients was ovie? the rumor grows into that being the reason he underperformed this year? i hate to see that...being a fan of the caps, had you heard this rumor also? i'd hate to have that be the case.

or was it that teams finally figured out how to stop him. it seems he doesn't really evolve his game. as much of a pens fan as i am, i enjoyed the rivalry. i hated to see him have such a bad year(at least by his standards).

You sure it wasn't a D, you said you were farsighted didn't you last year?

I also see you have a lot of support for the Motor City in the thread, "The Funk Brothers".

Who are the Funk Brothers? For the Baby Boomers who remember the 60's and that great Motown sound, (great DVD to buy from Amazon.com) dig it The Funk Brothers http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&fe...&v=gA0GcXV2njY

Yea, I think it was a P and a little birdy on skates. Be careful with Sid the Kids clubs. He might send one of his big bad defensemen to do his dirty work.

Whatever happens I think we are in for a great playoffs. All the teams that made it in have been playing well and I think we may be in for some upsets. Whoever makes it to the finals will have earned it.

I can see that Ranger fan, let's call him the "Blue Lagoon" hasn't flashed us today. Probably planning his strategy at the moment.

Well, with the way the Rangers have played this season he has a right to brag a bit. Of course if their goalie goes down they are toast.

I borrowed my neighbor's glasses and checked out the box again. It looks like a spoked wheel with a B for the hub There was a note attached saying "Tell labworm we're sorry but we want to hit the links before it gets too hot."

It's a good thing those Chicken Wings are out west or they would be heading to the golf course Monday.

There is one thing the Detroit Red Wings have that no other team in the NHL has.

Mark Recchi
The man had a great NHL career.
His last 3 years, Boston gave him a home, in return he gave us a cup.

Hope the Pens survive the onslaught coming up

Well, the Chicken wings in the west give us the only chance at an Original 6 final. I could go with that.

the pens recalled steve mcintyre for saturdays game. any pens fan know he has one job on saturday...protect the "stars". he's an enforcer that won't even have to step on the ice. this little scrum got him a 4 game suspension and a pretty good fine... Steve MacIntyre goes after the Falcons Mar 11, 2012 - YouTube ....the opposing teams enforcer was after every one...until macintyre comes on the ice...then he wouldn't fight...

i have mixed feeling about this...it's good to get some protection for the top guys...cause you never want your stars to chance getting hurt in a fight...but it's a wasted spot for a guy who may be on the ice for 5 minutes...

Hey, a Flyers fan. That Pens-Flyers series might be the best of the first round. My money is on whoever comes out on top of that one to play in the eastern conference finals against the Bruins or Rangers.
This is gonna be good.

Thank you so much Strato, I'll sleep well tonight.

Boy was I ever wrong, I thought your childhood friends were in correctional facilities up in Michigan.

[QUOTE=speedyquad;136448395]the pens recalled steve mcintyre for saturdays game.

One thing the Broad Street Bullies and the Big Bad Bruins have in common?
We just love them enforcers.

I'll wager this: If MacIntyre goes up against current Flyer and former Jacket Jodie Shelley, "The Man With Two Girl's Names" will disassemble him. Jodie has already made plans to join the CBJ staff when his playing days are over and this little beat-down-the-goalie episode is all the fuel he needs. Springfield is our American League farm club.

For the duration of the playoffs, I am now officially a fan of the Broad Street Bullies!

Derrick Engelland beat jody shelly in a fight.

Jody Shelley vs Deryk Engelland Oct 29, 2010 - YouTube

and he isn't even a "true" fighter like the shelly or colton orr(whom he also took beat).

Colton Orr vs Deryk Engelland Oct 13, 2010 - YouTube

game time is a little over an hour away...my thoughts are that mac and shelly will sit most of the game and not be needed at all as i think the nhl has probably warned against another debacle like the islanders vs pens from last season.

I guess I hasta call ya Johnson this time. Good one. Now who really is in the photo? Penalty box? Hockey fans? Since the fellow in the middle had serious lab work done could he be the infamous labworm? Give 2 points to Nurse Cratchett, who won this game. Go Blues.

Take a nap, Boston College 7 PM, Pens lead the Flyers 4-2 at this moment.

Your going to have to replace the blue ink in your computer when the Playoffs start.

pens game has been kind of low key since the early fight. the score should be 4-1. although i understand why bylsma made the goalie change, i question his timing. bringing in a goalie that has struggled this season to start in a penalty kill situation. i guess he wanted them to have as equal time in net as possible, but bring him in for the third.

You know the gang up here in Boston will be cheering him on.
Just keep your fingers crossed and hope Strato isn't cheering for him.

The WINGS got that last pesky loss out of the way just in time for the playoffs Watching the Tigers pummel the Red Sox and waiting for 7pm to watch Ferris State take care of Boston College

Big deal, if the Tigers didn't score 10 runs it would have been a close game.

Have to watch BC, Rangers/Caps playing also will have to bounce back and forth.

Ferris Wheel State is your prediction, like it

Yep, Ferris Wheel State over BC Powder

Yeah it's a shame the Tigers wasted all those runs when they only needed one
