I really like cooking. I go through phases when I discover something new. I do some Mediterranean style. I have rediscovered the art of simple food.

I do all the cooking in my house, have for over 26 years. My wife was done with cooking when we met, but I do make her do all the dishes and cleaning up. Dinners are my specialty.

I often cook. I make some of the best lasagna around. My other specialties are fried chicken and pancakes.

Default I am the cook in our house

I do all the cooking in my house and I enjoy it immensely. I also do all the shopping. Granted, it is only three of us in the house, but it is still tough to come up with new dishes that my wife and daughter will enjoy.

My daughter likes eggs for breakfast. We rotate between scrambled, boiled, or poached. Fruit and toast is included with breakfast.

I pack my wife and daughter's lunch. Sandwich, chips, carrot sticks, fruit, and a sweet treat goes into the bag.

For supper, we are a meat and potato family. Red meat, chicken, or fish with potatoes (mashed or baked), rice, or pasta with a vegetable and some bread. I have not had much luck with pork. Soups and stews make the house smell great but I am batting .500 at being successful. I have couple pasta dishes that work well.

My best dish is a grilled salmon with a marinade made of maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and garlic.

We come to an agreement. I will only try new recipes on Friday and Saturday night. That is in case the new dish is not received well, we will have time to go and pickup something from Chic-fil-a.

Gotta get to the kitchen and start cooking supper.

I enjoy cooking but primarily outside on either the grill or the smoker. On the grill would be beef steaks, chicken breasts, hotwings, bratwurst, shrimp scampi and salmon steaks. On the smoker I like to do turkey, pork ribs, beef brisket and salmon. If I cook in the kitchen it is usually just breakfast, eggs, sausage or bacon and bisquits and gravy pretty simple stuff. Probably my favorite meal is chicken fried steak, Linda fixes it in a cast iron skillet, with fried potatoes and onions and garlic. We really need to eat healthier than we do but it sure tastes good.

My honey and I both love to cook, and we work well together in the kitchen. I usually cook breakfasts on the weekends. In all our 29 years of marriage, she has had three failures in the kitchen, a tuna roll(she said it was breading, I think it was concrete!), a pot of badly overseasoned chili (cut it 6 times and still couldn't eat it!), and something she did with cilantro that still gives me shivers....

I am a master griller (charcoal of course) and love to grill steaks. Well done for the Wife and daughter, almost raw for me and my son.
I can only COOK two things: Chili and meatloaf. Both of them would kill you dead if you ate 'em every day, but once in a while they are Heavenly.

I enjoy cooking. On dirt biking weekends, I often cook breakfast for 15 or so. My black buttered eggs have won a pretty good following. Serve them with bacon, fried potatoes, black beans and toast or tortillas.

At home, my wife usually cooks, and she's pretty good. I will do some pasta dishes, risotto, and I like to do pork chops with okra or some other greens cooked in the pork drippings/deglaze.

I've always enjoyed cooking. Mostly breakfast when my kids were home. Now I BBQ a lot, plus soups, stews, steak, chicken, fish, hash, eggs & bacon, sour dough pancakes. We love veggies steamed along with crab, clams & oysters. We've about eaten up the little buck I got last year.

^^^ I agree with the "never trust a skinny cook"

I enjoy cooking too Mg357, lately I have been working on simple meals, whole foods and natural ingredients, cooked in simple ways.

I recall being a kid, during the holidays at my grandparents house, and just being surrounded by good food cooking in the kitchen and a wonderful aroma.

Of course, as a kid, I wanted to try it all right then and there--no patience. I said somethin of the sort to my grandma about snacking and her reply was "hunger is the best sauce".

I always thought that was special, they had some lean times during the depression and at various other times having to raise a large family on one income; like lots of folks i suspect.

Kind regards

I do most of the cooking and I'm ok. I've grown up around world class southern cooking and I made my living in the food business. After 60 years somethings bound to rub off.

Women tell me I'm a typical husband cook. I make a good breakfast, I'm a helluva sandwich builder and I excel at reworking leftovers, but ask me to fry a chicken or make a pasta dish and I'm lost.

I have been cooking for as long as I can remember - runs in the family - my dad was the cook and so is my brother for his family. My best suggestion is to avoid anything in the grocery store with a label - stick to the veggie, meat and dairy aisles - the middle aisles are mostly processed c**p - well there are olives, pickles etc but you get my drift.

Cooking from scratch is cooking - the rest is re-heating.

I enjoy cooking a lot. Learned at a very young age. My Mom was a stay at home,(no job/job). She loved cooking, and I soaked it up. She took cooking classes whenever she had time like French, Chinese, Italian, etc. Baking/Bread making classes.

I still enjoy it. I make all the Holiday meals in my house. Family knows unless I ask for help, stay out of my way in the kithen.
I cook about two times a week now. My wife was an awful cook when I married her. She just won a Chili cook off at a local bar!!! Metal and $100. She learned a lot from Mom.

My wife and I both love to cook, and have reached the point we would rather have guest's over for dinner then eat out. To make things better our youngest son is a constant in the kitchen with us... As I tell him take girls our for a first date, make dinner for the important ones.

I like to cook, nothing fancy for breakfast or lunch, but for dinner I like to cook fish, trout (speckled trout) Menuier is my favorite, I did some tonight, I caught them yesterday. Other favorites are Spanish Paella, Ciopino a seafood stew, Curry, too many to list.
My wife, a Boudreaux, does the Cajun dishes, great Gumbo etc. Both of our sons like to cook also.

A cooking forum would be great. I like to smoke and grill, but the stove doesn't scare me. If I've got meat and heat gentlemen, we have a meal!

I'm a batchelor so I better know how to cook. My mother was a great southern cook, and I learned all I could from her in her later years. Although she helped me get my cooking merit badge, back around 1967, and showed me how to cook fried chicken in a cast iron skillet. I can use a grill, stove, smoker, oven and crock-pot. At Christmastime, I make divinity, fudge and peanut brittle, as good as anybody's. I'm not the best cook around, but I can cure hunger for a while.

Even during the 30 years I was married I did all the cooking. All three meals and snacks.
Now for the past three years since DexW hit the road I still love making my own eats. There are just more left overs

There's no restaurant that can prepare my grub like I can.

Steak, Chops, don't need a barbecue pit, only a cast iron pan.

Hell Matthew-I'll cook anything that's dead. As a Louisiana boy I've learned that you can do anything with Onions BellPepper and celery (we call that the holy trinity down here) sauted in a little oil until clear. From there you can go just about anywhere.
Trick to cooking is don't be afraid to experiment-more often than not it will turn out pretty tasty. Cooking is also like another favorite recreational activity of mine. To achieve the best results go slow. Cooking long and slow brings out the best in food.
FInally don't be affrid to try new things.
As far as a favorite, my still favorite breakfast, although not enjoyed by me for many years do to health reasons is still a strong cup of coffee and a couple of Marlboroughs
