Eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, ham, sausage, SOS, grits, hashbrowns, pancakes, blackberry preserves! Any combination of these in the evening (or early morning) is mmm good! Wash it down with Ovaltine.

"breakfast" type items are good anytime. i like pancake sandwiches...........two or more basted egges between two pancakes

Waffles for dinner? Works for me. When I worked swing shift and we'd go out to eat afterward I'd usually order breakfast food, even though it was 11 at night and my body clock was saying "dinner". It's a lot faster to get scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast than to have them make up some other dinner-type food, with a baked potato that's been sitting in the warming drawer since 4 PM. Safer, too. Who'd really want industrial chicken-fried steak with instant mashed potatos and industrial gravy if there was a half-decent alternative?

Bond, James Bond. And his creator, Ian Fleming. He had a passion for scrambled eggs, which he often had Bond order at supper.

I sometimes do that. If you want wine with eggs like that, I suggest a good Riesling or Sauvignon blanc. Kendall-Jackson bottles a good one, at a very fair price.

I sometimes use Ranch Style beans and spinach as side dishes. But a fresh spinach salad also goes well, with pineapple for dessert. Carrots or steamed asparagus with Hollandaise sauce is good as a side dish, too.

Food protection? A Walther PPK, of course!

Breakfast food is 24/7 for me. Omelett with cheese & bacon or sausage & a little siracha sauce mixed in before cooking is great for dinner!

Not uncommon for me to go to Cracker Barrel for lunch with co-workers and get biscuits and gravy.
With a side of sausage to break up into little pieces all over the top of it...............................................I'm getting hungry!

A few times a year when my wife isn't home for dinner I'll make scrambled eggs with cheese and smother them with Bush's Beans. A good English Muffin or Bagel with some Philly and a nice cup of Java finished off the meal.

Once in a while now but years ago when working the midnight shift it was all the time.

One of my favorite Breakfast's is the Blackberry pancake breakfast from Cracker Barrel. I think it also includes eggs and sausage but I just love the pancakes w/blackberrys on top w/ blackberry syrup and whipped cream. I could eat breakfast any time of the day.

I'm diabetic, & if my glucose is high, I make sausage, bacon, & soft scrambled cheddar eggs, with a couple o' pieces of whole wheat toast. VERY low carb, brings my levels down quickly, & very satisfying too.

Back about a hundred years ago I use to work for Fed X. On Saturday AM (About 2:30 AM that is) we would get off work and head to Denny's. Two fried eggs over medium, sausage, bisquits and gravy, small orange juice and a BUDWIESER! Legally they could not sell beer past 3:00 AM so I would call and pay by CC for a pitcher of Bud to go, then we would get there and order b-fast and drink the pitcher between three or four of us. Ahhh, the life of a college student.

Back to the OP question. I had eggs, sausage and gravy and a sliced tomato with melted gouda for dinner tonight. Guess what's sitting next to the keyboard right now?

I was just asked to make bisquits and gravy for my son's girlfriend tomorrow night. I made it for her once and I guess she liked it.

I love doing my hashbrowns and sausage and cheese omelette (made with egg beaters to keep the cholesterol down). I typically will put Frank's Original Hot Sauce over both and then some green Tabasco and some smoked Tabasco and some salsa and sour cream. So, yummy.

Thought No2, Anyone ever heard of Vermont Maid Syrup and, if so where can it be found. We had it in a couple of stores around here in the 70's. Can't find it anymore.

Yep I am there with you on breakfast anytime but not enough to churn my own butter, my hats off to ya.

Some stores still carry it, as do a number of online retailers. Internet search will do it for you.

I like all that stuff anytime. Never a bad time for eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, toast. I grew up on Vermont Maid syrup, I haven't seen it in years. Now I've moved on up to the hard stuff, pure amber maple syrup. I will confess, that as a southerner, I don't understand bagels. I would never eat a bagel when I could have a donut instead.

Breakfast for dinner is a big time, cold weather, treat around here. Corned beef hash, cheese eggs, sourdough toast, and orange juice. Life is good!!

Bacon, eggs, grits, biscuits with some home made scuppernong/muscadine jelly for supper. It don't get no better than that...unless you could add in some home churned buttermilk. I don't think I've had any since my great aunt quit churning her own butter about 50 years ago.

I'm glad you posted that. My dad was from Arkansas and I grew up eating a lot of Southern foods but we never had grits. First time I ate grits was at Ft. Dix New Jersey, of all places, and I developed a taste for grits with scrambled eggs mixed in. When we stop at places that serve grits with breakfast and I mix the eggs into them I usually get comments like “That must be the Yankee in you because a Southerner would never eat them that way”.

What the devil are/is grits, anyway? Gound-up hominy? I never order them, but sometimes they just come with a breakfast.

I'm from the South, but never acquired a taste for them.

I love eggs with lots of pepper, sausage, LOTS of bacon, sausage gravy & biscuits with lots of pepper, hash browns, and toast, along with a glass of tomato juice. It's even better for lunch or supper. But I seldom eat it. Bad for my ticker. (If I do, I don't tell anyone.) Usually I just have a half cup of coffee and a bowl of cereal or a couple waffles. (Hoping to win that maple syrup karma for those waffles!)

When I was in college in the 70's there was a place in New Orleans open 24 hours called Algoods. Was on Prytania across the street from Touro Hospital. I can't remember the number of wee morning breakfasts washed down by a couple of DIxie beer long necks.
Or in the French Quarter the spot to go after shutting down the bar (I used to tend) was Lucky Pierres for steak, eggs grits and a bottle of Johnnie Walker red for the four of us. Finish up around sunrise-got to know lots of the regulars-the sporing ladies were a hoot talking about the nights work.

I am doing that right now. Bacon fried eggs corned beef hash sausage and English muffins. Love breakfast for dinner.

@ the OP, i'm with ya on this one! Often times, i'll mix ham, eggs, and potatoes for dinner with cheese.

If that won't "work", i'll sometime do either bacon or steak, with a scrambeled egg and toast.

Even rarer, I'll make an omellete with mushrooms, parsley, ham, and two types of cheese with the hottest salsa I can find on the side. That way, I can have a few bites with and without the habanero (spelling?).

As others discussed, corn beef hash is a blessing. I don't like mine out of the can; therefore, I buy it direct from a local deli. It can get kinda pricey but it is a nice splurge.

If I choose to go out, I usually get a gyro omellete with feta cheese and tomatoes...Mmm mmm good.

Made biscuits and gravy tonight. My son did the shopping and ended up buying maple flavored sausage. I wasn't sure how it would work, but it was actually pretty good.

After cooking it, I went to pick up my new pre-28. My FFL guy looked at me and asked "you been eating pancakes?". I guess standing over the sausage while it cooked gave me a bit of flavor.
