Default Cajun Grand Slam

At breakfast this morning before starting a mediation, talking to a couple of local farmers about crops (rice, soybeans, sugar cane), driving on country roads and so forth -- we have lots of local small animals living in the wild -- and one of the guys said that a Cajun Grand Slam is when you accidentally hit and run over an armadillo, a skunk and a possum on the same night with your pickup truck. Also found out that armadillos are used for leprosy research (apparently the only other animal other than man that contracts leprosy). Interesting breakfast conversation.....................
So, friends, just curious -- what would be your local equivalent of a Grand Slam?

And a super slam is when you add a racoon to the mix

Funny story.
15 years or so ago when the now head of the Public Defender's office came to town (he-like me is originally from New Orleans) he was at the St. Martinville office and opened the small refrigerator and found a dead rabbit in it-fur and all. After that "what the hell moment" the old cajun investigator told him that was his rabbit-he picked it up that morning on the way to work-saw it get hit and didn't want to waste it.
He tells that story on himeslf today-saying he was thinking "Toto-we're not in Kansas any more"

Talking

There's so much game runnin' round here it's almost impossible to speculate what you might nail with the truck at any given moment. But right now, we have tons of Canada Geese, Ducks of every persuasion and the usual cast of characters including, deer, skunk, possum, tree rats, regular rats, grouse, bobcat, foxes, coyotes and my neighbors damn chickens, steers and hogs. I'm tellin' it true, I just don't take the chance of driving at night anymore without the snowplow in the down position....works like a locomotives cow catcher.

Cheers;
Lefty

I forgot to mention turtles and a few two legged critters who need hittin'.

What if Boudreau hits a nutria also? I think around here if you hit 3 armadillos, it's a hat trick.

If Boudreau hits the right Nutria he buys a new truck.

Here in Maine it's a moose, a bear, and a deer, all in the same year. Bonus points if you survive hitting the moose.

Inshore Slam= Trout, Redfish, Snook.
Of course you can't keep them as they are either too small, too big or not in season.

When I lived in the Oregon high desert we didn't put brush guards on our trucks, we mounted deer guards. During the mule deer migration three in a night was considered a "base on balls". Attached is a picture of a potential grand slam in my back yard.

Same thing in Oklahoma. I'd have to say that in my neck of the woods/world it be an armadillo, a possum and a skunk... with the occassional feral pig.
