Does my choice of guns mean I'm getting old?

Yes, too old. So you need to give them away to someone younger.

As we get older we better learn what we like. We also care much less about what other people may think about us (the Nothing to Prove syndrome). We also have a tendency to tell people what we think. And yell at people to get off our lawns.........what was I talking about? Oh, yeah, nice guns!

I once wanted to see how powerful a gun I could get.
Now I am interested more in lower recoil and better accuracy. With these eyes, the accuracy is a challenge.
I like revolvers more that pistols so my son considers me old fashioned.
When he shot a smaller group with my 624 than he did with his M&P 9, he may understand why old is not so bad after all.

Well, I'm not sure I'm familiar with your scattergun, but I know what fine guns the Riflemans' Rifle and the Winnie '97 are. I think we would appreciate each others safe contents.

Don't see anything synthetic in that picture. Just good old wood and steel. To me that doesn't show you are getting old, it shows you have good taste.

It says that you know your guns and too smart to run with the zombie killer/tacticool crowd.
I recognize 2 out 3, what the top one?
That non take down M1897 is rare bird.

Mine are slightly different and a bit newer. Top would be a Belguin Browning A5 20 gauge 3" mag, center fire would be a pre 64 Win 30-06 with a Uertnel 4X scope, and a Model 12 12 gauge. I bought my dad's guns 5 years ago from my Mom when my dad passed. Bought his headstone. Got several S&W revolvers of his ( 19-1 4" & 36 3" no dash) to add to my stable of S&W guns. Nothing like wood and steel. BTW nice looking "old" guns. You have any young people looking at your old guns with interest?

There's NOTHING wrong with the guns of your choice that a few flashlights, lasers, 4 (or 5) rails and maybe a couple of scopes wouldn't fix right up.
So - Get the drill out and be just like a kid again
P.S. Finding the *correct* stocks to update these may be a problem.

They all look great to me....fine wood & steel guns are to be treasured and pasted on to ones who can appreciate their quality and functionality.

When I began to develop an interest in firearms, old guns were all I could afford. Nowadays, they are all I really want. I like and enjoy 1911's and S&W revolvers. I positively adore 1903 and 1903-A3 rifles. I am fully in agreement with Geo. Patton on the supreme utility of the M-1 Garand. In fact, when I don't go jogging, I carry one just about every morning while out walking with my dog Molly for exercise.

Yep, you be old. Old enough to know what works. I really like your Ithica trap gun, always wanted one but never have bought one. Which grade is she?
I enjoy going to the trap range with my straight out of the box Win M-12 and outshooting the crowd with all their newest, latest, greatest target missers. They just look at me with their mouth open......I just smile and tell 'em "it's just practice boys, lots of practice, not the gun".
And my sawed off old M-97 from the Kansas State Pen I bought when they sold 'em off years ago works just fine for my house gun and at cowboy shoots.
Ain't got none of them pre-64 M-70s but got some of the newer ones and they work just fine.
Wood and blue steel is my favorite, stainless just kind of turns me off, but I do like a good nickle plated Colt or S&W now and then.

4E.........very nice.
At the NRA convention Ithaca had a display and had a Sousa grade there. Originally the company made 11 of them and the new outfit is going to make 11 of them. Too gaudy for me.
And Iggy, I LOVE your "sent from my desktop keyboard" that is funny right there I don't care who ya are!

I'm right there with ya Iggy. I make about 1 phone call a week and never text, facebook, or any of that other stuff.
The cows wouldn't reply if I did! Maybe I should start BeefBook or CowSpace or MyHay?
And don't get me started on that GPS stuff, I got maps and they ain't let me down yet, don't need to replace the batteries or make sure they're charged up, or plugged in or nothin'.
