Default Family Fight Day at Disneyland

A number of times today on TV we have seen video of a real “family feud “ in a crowded thoroughfare in broad daylight at Disneyland. It was said to have lasted from 3 to 4 1/2 minutes. One large male was delivering multiple blows to his sister, then he and another male danced around a bit. Then women were passing blows and several fell to the pavement.A football coach intervened and finally got help. Then security arrived.
Many TV spokespersons talked about no one intervening earlier and how today’s citizens not getting involved in these situations.
Luckily no one produced a knife or gun.
Amazingly, no charges were filed!.!
This was probably a good situation for an untrained person to stay out of.

I hope they come back for a repeat performance. Maybe they do this again in different parts of Disneyland.

Nature or nurture? Genetics or environment?

Difficult to say with certainty, but such stories clearly indicate that some people should either not reproduce or stay away from amusement parks.

Hard not to notice the numbers of live action videos compared to the smaller number of calls for security or police, and only one guy steps up while men are pounding on women in full view of hundreds.

I doubt they’ll be back. Disney likely takes a very dim view of their activities.

Once at D World I heard a Dad tell his son,
The next time you come here, you’ll be with your kid!
I think that was the time I stood in line in the rain to see a Micheal Jackson video.
With my Dau! She just had to see it!
Yes, D places and others can be stressful!
We are driving hundreds of miles, spending thousands of dollars,
We will have fun!
Ready set, go, have fun now!
You don’t have to take my word for it.
Just rewatch those Chevy Chase movies!

Another day, another bizarre story out of Florida. Maybe you locals should consider an income tax to stem the flow of crazies invading your state! I really do feel bad for you...

The host on FOX news was berating people who didn't get involved. I think that unless someone's life was in danger this was the precise thing NOT to get involved in. I am really surprised that the mouse didn't have a better security response.
I see this sh....er stuff every day and as far as I am concerned as long as it's just the grown-ups fighting and there are no weapons involved than there is no reason whatsoever for me to step in and ruin their fun.
What is the old saying...."not my circus-not my monkeys"
Trash is ubiquitous just learn to step around it rather than in it.

No, Disney LAND is in California. The World is here in Florida

The video is all over the internet. Pretty sad.

Where I have lived I could have easily taken my kids or grandkids to either Disney location - we went to the beach instead. Standing in line for hours to go on a 3 minute ride and spending hundreds of dollars per day in huge crowds is just not my idea of fun- it would be cheaper to fly to NYC and get on a crowded subway during rush hour for the same effect.

That and Disney is MAJOR anti-gun rights makes them of little use or desire to me

We go to Disney World in Orlando for ten days every three years or so (next trip 2021). As the kids have aged, my duties gradually lessened to where now I just drink beer and watch people. Definitely not the place for newlyweds or families with multiple small children. I’ve seen what I believe to be the start of a divorce or future domestic violence incident nearly every day, at every park. That is one stressful and expensive vacation.

Funniest thing I’ve ever overheard was in a restroom at the Animal Kingdom, which is always hot and sticky, even by Florida standards:

Dad: Are you having fun?
10 year old son: No (with a scowl).
Dad: Well, Daddy paid a lot of money for this, so you better start (insert your favorite profane modifier) smiling . . .

You gotta be kidding!! Get involved in that mess???!!! That one ol' gal is big enough to be playing offensive line for the Denver Broncos!!!

In a situation like that, I think the best thing is just to sit back and consider it comic relief.

Personally, I think Disney missed an opportunity to capitalize on the whole thing. They should've had one of their people walk by and announce to the crowd, "Don't worry, folks! It's all part of the show!...all part of the show! We want to thank the stunt people from the Screen Actors' Guild for their fine performance. Let's give 'em a big hand!"

No but security is almost as tight as the airport. I used to get annual passes when my son was little. Carried into the park routinely. Metal detectors now with bag search. Went last Thanksgiving on free passes, don't know if'n I'll be back even for free. Cost $25 to park the car, almost $100 for a couple salads, a burger, nachos and 3 bottles of water. Crying children everywhere, mom PO'd, and dad looking for a "watering hole" which is hard to find in the Magic Kingdom. That "giant $ucking sound" ain't NAFTA, it's MICKEY. Joe

It would be cheaper to take the family on a cruise ship - even the Disney ship; than to go to the park for the same length of time - and it would be a LOT less crowded.

This just in: The participants in the fight were not family. They were there to apply for an opening to play Goofy. After watching the video of the melee, Disney told them they were all over qualified and sent home.

True, but look at the stock, who would not want to own a group of giant overpriced, overfilled theme malls (with commensurate hotels and restaurants) that people joyfully pay $110 just to get into for one day.
