Looks like an older High Standard of some sort. Or possibly a Colt Woodsman..

High Standard (release latch on the right side). I'll guess it's a Flite King or Sport King with that rear sight.

No no... the AK47 has a shoulder thing that goes up and uses assault clips.

That's obviously a glock automatic machine gun that's undetectable by airport scanners...

As I understand it if it has a buttstock it's an AK-47, otherwise it's a Glock with a high capacity clip that should be illegal.

Definitely a fully-automatic weapon for sure. Loads itself, aims, fires and kills people. Should be illegal for people to own weapons of such mass destruction.

If it is reported by NBC/CBS/ABC/CNN it will be a .50 cal full automatic sniper weapon bought at a gun show with no paperwork/background check after being used to kill a 3yo child...

Purchased in one of 4 border states that are resisting compliance with the new BATFE rules which were written to protect shop owners from the evils of assault weapons.....

I can confirm that Nancy Grace has identified the weapon as an AK-47 (stated the A stands for "Assault" Just in case anyone here is new to guns) , and this AK-47 was loaded with "armor piercing hollow point ammunition".

I am afraid that you have all guessed wrong. To the highly trained eye, which me's got, that is a CTG. I think you all knew that but just didn't want to have others think you're right like me.

That's the plan, but the owner hit the guy 4 times in the torso, leaving one near his spine.

Perp made it out of the store but folded on the sidewalk outside.

That means he could have been returning fire while as he was moving.

Not very encouraging.

Haven't you ever watched the news?

Yup!!! Saw a dash cam clip where a local cop shot it out with a guy carrying an AK-47. They showed the captured gun. It was a worn out SKS. So SKS = AK-47.

If it had been painted black it would have been a M-16.

LOL

Watching some show on Discovery the other day about California wildlife game wardens. A bunch of them go in the mountains to catch illegal pot growers. They cought 2 guys and the game warden says they were armed with an AK47 and some other type of gun that I forget. When they camera pans over to the weapons it shows a duckbill SKS mag! But it was a steel mag so at least its not Tapco

update

Spoke at length with the business owner today.

Perp made everyone lay on the floor and had tie wraps to use as cuffs.

Owner only went down on one knee instead of laying down.

Perp began to load loot from the safe while turning and looking back as he held the gun on the owner.

Perp stopped and tried to put tie wrap on owner and during a mild struggle, shot owner through and through from butt to front thigh.

Owner began to bleed heavily (on blood thinner meds)

Perp began to leave, turned back and pointed gun at owner just as owner pulled a .357 Colt Trooper from behind the counter.

Owner shot perp several times COM with the .357! Two hollowpoints pass through the perp and break the front store windows.

Perp still gets to the front of the store and ducks down behind the front counter.

Owner retrieves a semi (Bersa?) .45ACP and shoots perp several more times.

Perp still manages to crawl through broken front door glass and collapses on the sidewalk.

EMS rushes perp to hospital and he lives to face trial.

Owner rearms and upgrades security again. (He'd been robbed 12 days before.)

Take note:
Four or five COM shots with .357 and .45ACP and perp remains active and doesn't die.

Either we need 10mm because the drugs these perps are on,
or looking to find are carrying them through proven ballistics.
Glad to hear the store owner is alive an safe.

#13 wasn't the robbers expectancy.

I asked that specific question.

The wife quickly replied, "If he was on drugs it had to be tranquilizers because he was so cool and methodical".

He never acted amp'ed up or excited even when he shot the owner early-on.

They found a "punch list" in his car with a step-by-step plan for the whole robbery.

Missing from that list was the "take multiple .357 and .45 ACP slugs".

As he lay slumped against the front wall and when the owner walked up on him with the .45, the perp begging him not to kill him.

So, the owner stood over him and let him crawl through the broken glass.

As the cops arrived he remained over the perp, gun drawn.

The cops didn't tell the owner to drop or lower his gun, but yelled for the perp to roll over. (He was on his stomach.)

The perp told them, "I'M NOT MOVING CAUSE HE SAID IF I MOVED HE'D SHOOT ME AGAIN!".

Moral of story: the will to survive can be stronger than multiple pistol rounds

WOW, that perp's nickname must be "Timex". What I read is the .357 over penetrated. I am guessing the EMS folks really did their job. I guess the bottom line is with any handgun it takes a very well placed shot. The store owner did as well as he could with a bullet hole in him. I would say the shop owner was well armed, perhaps a Taurus Judge. My barber had one of those in his cash drawer.

Just another misunderstood yoot shopping for diamonds for his grill. The shop owner should tell his customers to "please stand on the plastic" to avoid the messy clean up.

If I had been shot that many times with 357/45 combo and was alive and able to talk and move, methinks I would have tried to get the ambulance guys to stop and get me a lottery ticket.

He was just turning his life around, too. His momma said he was a good boy, went to church when he was young. Carried in the groceries one time for his aunt, too. Was talking about going to divinity school next semester, and showed interest in chemistry so he could find a cure for cancer (that from her catching him doing some science work with some white powder the other day.) Worse still, what's his baby momma gonna do with him recovering in the prison ward?

The store owner should have waited a few before calling 911. The EMTs did their job.

I am reminded of the old adage...There is NO magic bullet.

No vital central nervous system shot, no spinal cord shot. Shot placement is king and this story is the proof of that.

Now...are YOU going to be cool and collected enough, being wounded yourself to try for a head shot ? Highly doubtful. This store owner showed a lot of guts to keep fighting, going to a second gun when the perp was still a threat....

Not Monday morning quarterbacking, just pointing out the obvious.

In parlance...he done good.

My suggestion to the Store Owner:
Purchase a 10 gauge semi-auto shotgun and a chain saw. Then next robbery, challenge the EMTs to put this "BG" back together

If I had one thing to tell the perp, it would be perhaps you aren't cut out for this. It might be a good idea to find a line of work where you don't get shot at. IMO, the shopkeeper did his job, the EMTs did their job and soon the DA will do his job. Maybe this perp can turn his life around. For the next several years he will be in close contact with folks who will help him do just that. Since the perp fired at and wounded the shop owner, I would assume the law will come down hard on him.

As the perp fell behind the front counter (owner was shooting from the back counter), he raised his head and the owner put a .45 ACP through his hat.

THAT would've closed the show.

He was actually dressed in a tie dyed tee shirt and wearing a Bob Marley hat.

Strange, indeed.
