Am I going crazy?
I just had a wonderful job interview, for a company I've been trying to get a job at for years. They like me I like them.
Now the weird part. I went for the drug test today and the nurse asked me where she knew me from.My last job at the ford place.I sat down and she made (apparently a joke)about me leaving off a few things, from my drug sheet(meds taken in last 60 days and I did forget an over the counter that shouldn' cause a problem) and said she was joking,I made a few jokes about it,and said truthfully, there was no way for me to fail it(and there isn't).She told me I couldn't believe how many ask"you didn't find anything did you?"
So she gave me my copy, and and said she would send the results to them.
Now there's a lot riding on this job,and its a very desirable one,and it's been a long time since I had a "good" paycheck and I need insurance. Also with my ex-wife problems and my kids getting older I'm getting nervous.
I know she didn't mean to make me worry, and she basically told me I passed, but I'm worried that I forgot about something over the counter, that could cause a false positive.
I don't know why I'm worried,it's stupid,I can't fail it.But for some reason I am STRESSED OUT
So am I going crazy or being stupid

I don't think that OTC meds show up in drug screens. I believe that they are looking for the ones that you either buy on the street or make yourself.

Your worried because of the importance of the job and what it means to you, can't blame you.
You'll pass the test and I hope you get the job. Good luck.

Reminds me of the last time I checked in with Army medics for an anthrax vaccine shot -- there was a newly pinned E-5 female medic,
cute, who was on her first overseas/combat deployment -- other troops in the area also needing updated shots -- I asked her very innocently:
"I thought after I got anthrax the last time, I had conferred immunity and would not need to get any more anthrax shots -- the docs told me once I quit shedding the virus, I would be good to go" she gave me an alarmed look, told me to wait for a few minutes while she got the doc --- it was too funny -- the doc (a major that I knew) walked up and was laughing her butt off -- told me to quit teasing her NCO's, get my shot and get out of her AO. The look on that medic's face was priceless!!

Actually the list of OTC that can,but usually dont, is pretty extensive. For someone allready employed they usually send it off for verification. Not always for new hires.

You are absolutely right, and I know it.I'm actually a security guard with a license to carry armed.I get tested regularly, and never worried. Dont know why I am now,and I feel like an idiot.
And VM they test for chill pills, but I could actually stand a drink right now
Had sausage and buscuit for breakfast, and forgot what marijuana smells like, forgot what it looked like but they showed it on tv the other day
Thanks,You all have made me feel better, and I know I'm freaking out for nothing, but I have the job,I'm just waiting on the drug test. The nurse was just being friendly, and had no intention of freaking me out.

Some jobs were federally mandated for on call drug tests. Which meant that you were called in unannounced. I just told them what I was taking and usually gave them a list. And if they wanted to call my doc. Never had a problem. Course if you got caught with something in your system that shouldn't be there then you had a serious problem. Company had a zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy. While not being outright fired you could and did end up in detox and 30 days at the farm being tested and again detoxed. Not something to be taken lightly.Glad you got the job. Frank

Relax, It'll all be fine. Worst case....If you have an "inconclusive" result, they would likely let you re-test.

My wife is a corpsman. Bad things can happen to people that annoy the medical staff for their own amusement. At the least... do not leave your coffee cup laying around.

I know some medics who would have given you their "special" needle technique for that gag.
jws:
I suggest you stick to decaf for a couple of days. You'll be fine.

Like you, I get tested a couple times a year so I can work armed. I never even think twice about it, and neither did you - until now. Is there more riding on this one? Of course there is. Is that enough to make you jumpy? You betcha. Do you really have anything to worry about?
No. You're fine. Keep us posted on the upgrade to your life!
