Wow! The bluing process doesn't affect the gold at all?

Do you have to cover the Gold in any way before blueing?

My guess would be that since blueing is rust, and gold doesn't rust...

Fascinating process inlaying the gold. I'm a cheap bastich & would probably cry my eyes out sanding away gold. Is the gold dust recovered?

Maybe someday i'll be able to afford something of this caliber.
Until then, pictures like this will have to suffice.
