Default I fought the lawn, and the - lawn won.

I am still a noob on this forum, though I have about 48,000 posts on other fora over the past decade but I was not sure of which title I should go. My other choice was "He got Mowed Down".

I would like to know WHAT type of handgun was involved. Very few modern handguns would discharge like this.

Default Killing weeds..

I hoped to get some info on how to control weeds. Three weeks ago I used GrazonPlus and it did a number on the dandelions and a lot of other broad leaf weeds. Unfortunately I had more centipede grass than I knew. It is coming back slowly. I was hoping for some info on something that might work better. PM if you have any ideas! TIA

Yeah, I'm not buying the "dropped gun goes off" thing either. Lower Leg wound? The last time I saw one like that it was a kid showing off the gun he'd "borrowed" from his Mama's dresser, he was sitting down and had the gun between his knees, fired a shot through his left calf, then claimed he'd been shot by some mystery dude nobody else saw.

Mama was NOT pleased, and as soon as we released him into her custody she proceeded to beat the snot out of him from the doorway of the PD all the way to her car. Or so I heard.............I didn't see a thing. Nor did anyone else.

The local Lansing, Michigan, pop music station, circa, maybe, 1964 (?), had a promotional gimmick they called "Make It, or Break It?", which consisted of playing a newly released "single" (45 rpm individual vinyl record, usually having the principal, promoted material on the "A" side, and a throwaway recording on the "B" side ....), and inviting the "first one hundred callers" to vote as to whether the station should "make", the recording, i.e., add it to the monotonous "Top Forty" playlist, or literally break the brittle disk on-air. When I heard the Bobby Fuller Four's rockabilly rendition of "I Fought the Law, and the Law Won", for the first and last time I phoned the station, voting "break it!". Whether or not they actually accumulated 100 votes is unknown, but according to the voting results, mine was the only "break it" vote, and I had to suffer hearing that inane hillbilly song for weeks. Now, I've kinda come to like it...

My best friend's son accidently dropped a single action .22 revolver while on a riding lawnmower. It discharged and killed him.

that is why the old revolvers should never be carried on a loaded chamber, and why we'd all like to know what the gun in question was.

I know of a case back in 1971 in milwaukee where a cop hung his coat with a gun in it in a resturant. The coat fell off the rack, the gun discharged hitting a patron in the neck.
I was flying home there and heard it on the news. No mention was made of what type handgun it was.

My lawn whips me every weekend. I'll just be glad when August gets here and it dies. I won't get rid of the dandelions, they're the only plant I know I can eat, if I have to.

Agreed. We got those types of weeds in Texas too. A Taurus Judge with .410 #6's or #7's carried in a proper holster is the norm.

"Aural propinquity" only agitated existing antipathy to rockabilly music... Not until later did I come to appreciate it, as well as other country genres. As related previously here, I was the booking agent that introduced, to Michigan, with a grand splash, Emmy Lou Harris, at the Chances Are showclub, in Ann Arbor, MI, circa 1975...

I gave up the fight , and moved to a part of Arizona where "natural desert landscaping" is preferred. How I hated lawn work, and I was too frugal to pay someone else to do it.

As an added bonus, I no longer have to shovel snow, either.

I should be safer now, no more dropping guns while mowing.

Well, he probably thought it sounded better than saying he was cleaning it, even though everyone knows that that is the #1 most likely thing to make a gun go off.

That's the start of a good meal laying there. A mower would really mess it up!

Both "went clean" with SRO crowds and the Fire Marshal getting excited... Liquor sales set never-topped records, with Jack Daniels setting the pace. The owner never again turned down any recommendation I made...
