Extremely touching.. my father-in-law, Robert C. Gray was on that raid. Too bad he didn't live to see this.

I may have remembered this from somewhere elswe, but I think it was Makin Island: they took out a Japanese Emily flying boat with a 55 cal British Boys AT rifle. The Emily was taxiing for takeoff when it ws hit and destroyed.
