My grandson is two years old and can get into anything/everything. The daughter is looking into ways to secure her revolver and is thinking of one of the nightstand safes with the finger tip access. Have any of you had experience with these? Which ones do you like and why? Do you have other suggestions.
Got a 3 yr. old grandson doing the same. Some years back I got a pretty sturdy safe about 12" x 12" x 6" with a stout key lock and mounted it solidly to the top of the bureau. Normally I have a 442 on me so that is 100% under my control. There are a couple more handguns that live in that box. During the day it's locked and the key is on a lanyard around my neck.
I've fooled with a couple of the keyless type boxes, but I must be bottom feeding because they don't work reliably for me. Murphy and all that.

Even though my kids are older now (14 & 16) I still keep my beside pistol in a small safe. I can open mine in the dark in about 5 seconds. I figure that would give a second to wake up & get my wits while I am opening the safe.
That safe does look cool! I wouldn't be able to give my wife the combination for fear of her shooting me if I screwed it to the dresser!
I would like to know if you can mount it right to wall stud through the back? It would seem to be a more secure setup.
I like it because it does not rely on batteries alone. There is a separate plug. When you open it there is a small light inside to see better and it has a tamper alarm.

I love it because it has no batteries or electronics of any kind. If I punch in the wrong code, I don't have to wait X seconds for it to reset; I can reset it by cranking the knob which takes all of a half second. It's sturdy and would be very difficult for an adult, let alone a child, to open with knowing the combination. Looks good, too.
