Log on to: Gun Auctions, GunsAmerica, GunsInternational, & GunBroker. The wide range of prices is guaranteed to confuse you more than you already are, but it's a starting point.

Default Try this to sell your gun

Try posting the mentioned three S&W's to their perspective forums,
Include a good picture with a brief description that includes,
Model number
Serial number with the last two digits X out
Barrel length
Finish
Grip type
Condition
Special features like Target hammer or trigger, 4 or 5 screw and so forth.
Any interesting history that is verifiable.
More description is better than less

Then simply ask politely for the guns value.

Compare the prices you get here to completed auctions on Gun brokers auction site or similar auction sites, these are listed as gun auctions on Google. This should give you a fair market value based in condition and desirability.

If you wish, list the 3 S&W's for sale in the Forum classified section base on the determined value.I find a small discount and a decent photo and description will result in a quick sale.
After all we are S&W collectors.

Rule #1 If you have the guns appraised ( this will cost you and should) never sell to that appraiser, make it clear from the get go.

Rule #2 If you sell on a auction site you may get more but you will have selling fees.

Rule#3 Be brutally honest in your descriptions, if you do not know say, I do not know.

One final note, know the law, ship only to verified FFL or if over 50 years old to verified C&R's. If shipping to CA.Washington DC, Chicago and several other cities know there state and local laws, they can be tricky.
