Snap Caps in 22lr
Is it necessary to use snap caps in S&W revolvers for dry firing, say a Model 18 or 43C. If yes who makes them. A-Zoom doesn't list them, only training rounds

In .22 Revolvers use #4 x 7/8" DRYWALL ANCHORS.
as a replacement for snap caps.
Mine are Yellow, these are the things you put into
drywall to put a screw into for holding up a picture.
They are cheaper than snap caps & work longer and better.
Available at Lowe's, Home Depot, ACE Hardware store.
100 pack or so is inexpensive.

gregintenn,
The wall anchors work better than 22LR brass,
the anchors SPIN (turn) in the chambers too,
so as not to keep hitting the same place with
the firing pin.

That's brilliant! I may already have some out in the workshop.
Thanks.

Amazing! Why can't I ever think of things like that? I don't even want to tell you how much I paid for .22 snap caps.
